Summary
Stella and Connie have never met and never will. So why is Stella stalking Connie's every move on social media?
Stella lives with her mother, a smothering narcissist. Her world has shrunk since the terrible accident that left her a shut-in. Her days are broken up by deliveries from a courier that she always returns and by the irresistible urge to watch the life of a stranger - beautiful Connie - unfold on social media. But why is she so drawn to a woman she has never met? And what caused the accident she doesn't want to speak about?
Connie is an expat living in Dubai with her partner, Mark, and their two children. On the face of it she wants for nothing, and yet she fears that her husband is turning into a stranger. When she finds herself drawn into the lives of the local domestic helpers, she discovers that there are dark secrets in this glittering city.
Two women with nothing in common except a twist of fate. What happens when their lives collide?

Take a chance!
With no other reviews and a few 5* ratings, I thought I would take a chance on this book - and wow, I loved it! Haven't read any of the author's previous books and I was unexpectedly delighted to have listened to this one. For once I agree with the description, I would definitely recommend this for any bookclub (there is plenty to talk about). The characters are interesting, the story is intricate and narration is wonderful.

Good ending but I like a book to enjoy throughout
not just at the end. It's good when story all starts coming together in last 3 hours but I nearly gave up quite a few times in the first half of this audio book.

Nah...
Pathetic and not realistic...FACE OFF meets the most boring story: cheating...yeh ..yeh...yeh...I fell asleep listening to it.

Loved it!
I took a punt because I liked Velton’s last book and this didn’t disappoint! I didn’t really know what to expect and I won’t give anything away, but the audible summary and it’s cover didn’t do this book justice because it’s a topic I’ve never read a story about. Thought provoking, well-researched and, most importantly, beautifully written. Keeps you guessing, too, as the story unfolds.
