Summary

A propulsive, mind-expanding thriller—and the world-shaking conclusion to the Course of Empire trilogy—about bold scientific dreams turning into nightmares … or perhaps new beginnings …

After usurping control of the world’s most powerful military technology, General Chip Walden knows the endgame is near and tasks scientist Eric Hill with one final assignment. Helped by the love of his life, Jane Hunter, Hill is haunted by premonitions of a coming catastrophe as the technology he created takes on a life of its own.

As Hill attempts to avert disaster, FBI Special Agent Bud Brown seeks revenge for the murder of his fellow agents by eco-terrorist Riona Finley. But what no one realizes is that forces are at work that have already decided humanity’s fate. With the clock ticking toward an irrevocable apocalypse, it’s no longer a question of if the world can be saved, but who will be the chosen few that survive.

The Great Unmaking is the grand conclusion to Brian Nelson’s magisterial trilogy that James Rollins has called “a must-read adventure.”

Great book

Enjoyed the book. Listened to it no stop and finished too quickly.
The performance of the female voices was a little lacking, they did all sound same. This h9wever did not detract from the overall performance.

Exceptional Listen

Simply an awesome book; couldn’t stop listening to it. Best to first listen to Book 2: Five Tribes for the gravity of this title to hit you. Exceptional storytelling, narration, & a possible prediction of how we’re probably our own worst enemies.

Oh Dear

I had this title on pre order and now wish I could find the heart to claim the credit back.

This book starts okay, maybe even okay. The ideas are yawn inducing at best, the ending shocking, but not in a good way. I got the feeling the author had a better book in them. This was rushed and needed a proper rewrite. There better ideas in the book that needed fleshing out.

It hurts to put such a negative review up. I enjoyed the previous two books.

A brilliant end to the series

Picking up the cliffhanger at the end of book two the story continues with brilliant depth and character development. The ending was clever but did leave you wanting more in some way. If you haven’t listened to this series then I’d recommend you jump right in and spend the credits as it won’t disappoint.

Original Near Future Scifi

Really enjoyed the conclusion to the trilogy. The author seems to know his stuff about a lot of different things. Found it a learning experience as well as an enjoyable tale.

Amazing!

Fantastic series - original and well written.
I would highly recommend the series - at a time when we are considering the impact of AI on our world
