Summary

From the author of the Amazon number-one best-selling novel The Air He Breathes comes the next book in the Elements series.

Complete standalone!

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

Logan Francis Silverstone and I were complete opposites. I danced, and he stood still. He was quiet while I ran my mouth. He struggled to find a smile, and I refused to frown.

The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn't look away.

We were broken together yet somehow whole. We were wrong together but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.

Until the day I lost him. He threw us away with one hasty decision - a decision that changed us forever.

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

Brittainy brings depth...

The air he breathes was the first in the 'Elements' series of books and was and OMG book, had me crying and gave me all the feels and was just perfection for me. So this had some living up to do.

I enjoyed the story, the depth and detail and emotion that Brittainy brings to her books is beautiful and I love reading them, did I love this as much as The Air he Breathes? Not as much no, now this is a small bit, but there was a difference..... not enough to take it down any stars as I love her writing too much and there are not enough star increments, no I didn't cry in this one either, reading the reviews where people were crying from the start, I think my heart must have frozen over with the cold, but I got the emotion, I got the feels and that is what I expect and get from Brittainy.

But, I did really enjoy it, this is my third Brittainy book now and I'm about to start my fourth.

5 The Fire Between High & Lo Stars

Brittainy has done it again, I am utterly astonished at how she can make me feel so much for these characters.

Not once did I think I could like a character more, but then she makes you love that character more.

Logan has not had an easy life and his adult one isn't starting of any easier, but I think it was the struggle that really makes him become the MAN he has.

Alyssa, what can I say about her. Ok so I might have a different way of looking at her. The way she meet Logan I didn't think she felt sorry for him in the way omg this guy can’t afford food. Just for the fact that he has to be the one to get the food to provide. I think that is one of the reason they connected, she never felt sorry for him but for his circumstance.

I love how they are totally different but kind of the same and that this friendship grows in to so very much more. I can’t explain how Brittainy can do this, but she makes a great story kinda sorta beautiful.

I very much enjoyed the narrators for this book, the male narrators gritty tones were just how I would picture Logan in my head. Love it.

Very much recommend this book.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

LOVED THIS BOOK

This book was dark and sad in some parts but it is wrapped up pretty good. Proof of what true love can be or just really good writing. I loved it.

The Fire Between High and Lo is the second book in the Elements series by Brittainy C. Cherry. I listened to the Audible audiobook told by narrators Graham Halstead and Emily Woo Zeller. I was absolutely captivated by this stunningly beautiful story. I found myself shutting out the outside world and feeling a part of Logan and Alyssa’s story.

The story line is full of love, pain, anger, frustration, passion, sadness, and so much more!

It is perfectly paced and unquestionably one of my favorites!

Very emotional

This audiobook story was about a boy and a girl from different walks of life who fell in love. Because of their differences and a terrible loss, the boy leaves and doesn't return for 5 years. Their relationship is very complex and the story well performed by the narrators. Lovely ending!

Listening to this book was as awful as it gets.

I tried as best I could to get through this book, but was only able to make it to the half-way point before I decided to throw in the towel. In short, the writing needs improvement and the story itself is very weak.

It is worth noting that of the fifty or so books I have listened to on Audible, this is my first negative review.

Did it again

Once again Brittainy did it! Awesome book! Gave all the feels! 18+ Read trigger warnings if u trigger with drug abuse, physical & emotional abuse, child abuse, child loss

Alyssa & Logan meet at a grocery store when Alyssa does something nice for him. Logan is the bad boy druggie (who is secretly a sweet heart & good kid). Alyssa is the good, sweet, rich kid. They are completely opposites but become best friends. Alyssa pulls Logan from his dark times with his drugged out mom & abusive drug dealing dad. Logan helps Alyssa with a controlling mom & absent dad. Something tragic happens between them & causes them to split and Logan leaves town. When Logan's brother gets sick & he comes home, old friendships start up again. Will they stay friends this time or will they let the past eat away at them?

I'm starting the last book in this series soon but so far my FAVORITE is book 3! U SHOULD DEFINITELY READ THIS SERIES!!

Great read

After reading all the negative review I wasn't sure whether I wanted to read this book but I am so glad I did. It was a great read. They went through a lot, Logan was a real jerk sometimes but he had a hard life and I understood why we acted the way he did. Alyssa was a great heroine. I loved the storyline.
