About this listen
Do the impossible, or lose your family forever....
Edgar Hill, unsympathetic husband and halfhearted father, finds himself in a hopeless situation. Despite all his best efforts, he hasn't managed to keep his family together. In fact they are further from him than ever - 550 miles, to be precise.
And in a world near annihilated by a terrible disaster, leaving the UK harsh and brutal, uncrossable by car or bike, his journey to find his loved ones will be fraught with challenges.
His best option is to run. But what if your best isn't good enough?

The pacing and length felt just right and the narration is excellent as he did a great job with the accents. 5/5.

What made the experience of listening to The End of the World Running Club the most enjoyable?
I loved the concept so purchased the book. At first I really struggled to like any of the protagonists but as the book went on I started to get them and see them changing as people and becoming stronger the worse the odds got. Very skillfully written. What did you like best about this story?
The bleakness of the ened of the world, but minus the cliche's and repetition. This was gritty at times, heartgfelt at others and a good mix of everything else along the way. What does Jot Davies bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Good accents! This could easily have been a multi-cast recording but the narrator did a superb job of making it believable, all by himself. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, but I did come back to it every chance I could.Any additional comments?
There's never been a time when I haven't winced at the words snot bubble and I did agin this time. Some of the descriptions are as raw as the end of the world setting but that all just added to the fun... Well sort of!Jog on!

Where does The End of the World Running Club rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of the best books I've listened to in a while. Engaging narration, complex characters and deals with subjects close to my heart: I'm a sucker for zombie stories or in this case a dystopian near-future where humanity collapses and our base instinct come to the fore and ; running - I'm training for a marathon at the moment so this was a great book to listen to while passing mile after mile of beautiful Yorkshire countryside. The book also made me think about identity and the random beliefs that we all hold by which we define ourselves and our environment. I enjoyed it so much I can imagine listening to it again in a year or so which is pretty rare for me.Best bits: the narration - Jot Davies is great at accents and bringing characters to life; the complexity of the characters - it's rare that books fleshes our the commonly held failings of a protagonist in so much detail; some great scenes of horror which were highly enjoyable; and the subject of running. It's ironic that in my training I often go out with an Antipodean antelope who was so close to character in the book it was uncanny.
Quite simply - outstanding!!!
