Summary

In this sexy installment of the Miles High Club series from bestselling author T L Swan, a billionaire playboy goes incognito on a backpacking trip in Europe. But how long can he hide from love?

I’m wealthy, powerful, and able to get any woman I want.

So why do I feel so empty inside?

In search of a deeper me, I take a sabbatical from my privileged life. One year of backpacking around Europe: a new identity, no contacts, and no money. Not a bad plan, I think.

Until I get there.

A crowded hostel room, body odor, and beer bongs—there are no words for the fresh hell I’ve landed in.

But amid the chaos, I meet my new roommate, Hayden Whitmore. She sleeps in the bed opposite me, and I openly admit to staring at her more than I sleep. Beautiful, innocent, and smart. Not my usual type but perhaps the perfect woman.

There’s just one small problem with the divine Miss Hayden. She’s totally unaffected by my charm. Nothing is working, and now, I’ve been friend zoned.

What?

But the good thing about me is that I’m an incredible problem solver, and I’ve come up with a diabolical plan. I’m going to slide right in under her friend zone. Be the best damn friend she ever had, hold her hand, make her laugh, and spoon with her in bed.

But now there’s another problem.

Hayden is the one who is sliding under my skin, and maybe friendship isn’t enough.

Fab last instalment

Great last book for this series. I was looking forward to it for so long. True to form, ticked all the boxes. One thing I’d say for the voice actors though is that not all English people sound like they’re from 1800’s London. The one girl who was supposed to be from Manchester sounded like she was a cast member from Oliver.

Perfect

The perfect end to a most enjoyable series
The last brother Christopher meets his match it ended a bit quickly considering all the build up but at least I only cried a couple of times.

So good.

I cried and I belly laughed at the antics that Christopher and hayden got up too. Some of the things that he said we a bit silly, but what a fantastic story. The endless a bit quicker than I expected. But otherwise brilliant. I do hope we get to see how life for the Miles boys are doing in the another story.

3.5 stars

Hayden is definitely the hero of this story. How she puts up with Christopher, his general surliness and temper is beyond me.

There are some partially redeemable moments where Christopher shows a much softer, attractive side but I can't ignore his general rudeness.

Fortunately as the book progresses this lessens and Hayden definitely smooths out this billionaire's rough edges.

All in all not a 'terrible' installment but certainly not my favourite of the series.

Amazing performance and great story

T L Swan did it again. This book was really funny, fun, emotion so and steamy. There were a few times that I screamed at my kindle or had to pause because my nerves couldn't take the emotions. And I felt that there is no way for a hea at some point. But it all sorted itself out, even if the end felt unfinished. I guess she was paving the way for the epilogue compilation book. Apart from the end my only problem with the book was that they said they would travel around the world but they just travel around Europe and made a pit stop in Thailand, that is not around the world, that is traveling around Europe plus a stop in Thailand. Totally worth the read.

🎧 Christopher and Hayden 🎧

What a disappointing end to the Miles High series.
Christopher was very immature and selfish at the beginning, so I was all set up for a huge redemption story.
By chapter 24(72%) that still hadn't happened. If anything he was even more obnoxious and loutish.

Right after the 31 year-old explains that he's actually the billionaire head of marketing for his family's media conglomerate, he has this to say...

“What kind of car is that?” “A McLaren.” She twists her lips, unimpressed. “Do you have anything less wankerish?” “This car is not wankerish.” I gasp, horrified. Actually, she may have a point. “I do need to wank after driving her because it makes me fucking hard.”

🙄🙄🙄

That wasn't his worst statement, but it was the last straw for me. I hit the stop button and sighed in relief that the torture had come to an end.

The narration was mostly fine, although the Australian and European accents were pretty awful.

❤️❤️❤️ THE PERFECT LISTEN ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve listened to and really raved about the other books in this very enjoyable series.. but this one, this one I truly truly loved with all my heart. The thirteen hours flew by as I listed and fell for these sweet characters and heard how these strangers became friends then best friend then lovers and then couldn’t help but fall in love with each other during their wonderful twelve months backpacking journey together around the world. The secondary characters were essential, adding warmth and camaraderie and friendship and fun. There were laughs and laughter along the way but their journey would have crossroads, lines in the sand, tears, compromises and second-chances too.

Worth a credit? A million yes’.. it had heart and humor.. romance and relationship hiccups.. and sex and soul-mate sweet sentiments.. and characters growth and oh so many other things that puts a smile on my face. And, of course, CJ and Sebastian’s narration brought the characters, the fun, the ebb and flow, the swoony and sentimental and the growth of story to life.

A fun read until the end -

TL Swan is without exception a charmed, clever read. When CJ Boom and Sebastian York perform her creations it takes them next level. In this case, had this duo not narrated the story it may have failed.

The first 80% of this romance is a delightful romp through Europe intermingled with a blossoming love story, but the last 20% was not well written, especially the ending, which was juvenile and truncated.

The real test - I have no desire to reread it.

The air crackles between us

I am glad this is the last book in this series. The actors were great and the story was entertaining. I just did not like “the air crackles between us” in every book.

Nope. Just nope. I tried.

The writing is better than a 1 star rating. But that's it. The whole book is based on a horrible person.

Christopher is just too much - selfish, sexist, impatient, entitled, unwilling to compromise, a complete bully, who constantly flouts his lack of self-control as if it's a good quality...? Not okay. If he is the future of men in this world, we are all in trouble.

Yes he has moments where he's an okay human. Overall he is a horrible person with a few good traits. He is a youngest and I get it- that's basically how they are for the most part. But he takes it to a disgusting new level. He acts like he's never been disciplined. He is sooo wrong for 85% of the book and should be apologizing for all of that time, but nope. He apologizes to his brothers and mom as soon as he says something out of hand. But to everyone else his is awful. The way he treats women, talks about them, interacts with strangers- just a complete asshole. Then on top of that, the way he treats "the one" makes me nauseated. THE WAY HE TALKS TO HAYDEN. Just disgusting. It's a horrible abusive relationship and SHE NEVER STICKS TO HER GUNS. He apologizes to her twice. In the whole book. And it's not even a good apology. Awful. Just awful. And their sex scenes. All horrible. It's just not good. He is so rough with someone so sweet it's just cringey. Nothing good about it at all.

The good parts in the book:

Reading about the year abroad backpacking - I never knew this was what it was like. And now I wonder if it's really this bad. (Interesting idea for sure and I can never allow my daughters to do it. 😳 I will pay extra to make sure they can be safe if they want to travel. Shudder.)

Eddie- loves him to pieces. He really redeemed the story. Love him. And everything with him in it. Honestly, the whole book being about Eddie would have been great

The actual writing was not bad.

Just ok

Not what we usually come to expect from TLS. The first 3/4th part of the book did not sound like anything she would’ve written.also, It looks like that I’m addition to “Margaritas” “lump in my throat” in every one of her book we will be reading a lot more “air crackles”….

Anxiously awaiting for the follow up to find me Alastar.

Worst book by Swan

I live this author’s work but this was such a far fetched story line I could not even luster after a couple chapters. I kept skipping chapters thinking it would get better but it was so ridiculous it was hard to listen too. I finally skipped to the last chapter without thinking it ever got any better. This mile high club was a very big let down. A crash and burn for me.

Unlikeable Characters

I didn't finish. Christopher was so unlikeable, I couldn't stand it. He was always yelling at people and acting like he was too good for the jobs he got. He's supposed to be in his 30s, but he acts like a teenager.

The audio was great. I had no problems with the narrator's but I just couldn't with the story. I liked the other Miles brothers' books, but this one was a big fat no.
