Story
Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? I waited until he was in the shower, then ghosted him.

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old". Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar. Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born. Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day - when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.

Hockey star Max Yearwood was everything I needed at the time - fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months, since he’d signed with a new team 3,000 miles away. Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right? The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

My love story all started with a letter. Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for. You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months. So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far. While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

Finding a good roommate through a classified ad isn’t as easy as it sounds. I was starting to lose hope. Until a knock at my door came, and God answered my prayers. Except...uh...wrong prayer, God. I’d definitely requested the big guy find me a drop-dead gorgeous man on more than one occasion...just not as my roommate. Declan Tate talked me into interviewing him anyway. While he was amusing and charismatic, I wouldn’t have been comfortable living with a man, so I regretfully declined. Then, cupcakes showed up at my door.

Summary
A new, sexy stand-alone from number one New York Times best seller Vi Keeland.
The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city.
Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts.
I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time.
Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was. You see, that unexpected invitation I received? Well, it hadn’t actually been addressed to me - it was sent to my ex-roommate who’d bounced a check for two months’ rent and moved out in the middle of the night. I figured she owed me an expensive night out, but I guess, technically, I was crashing the wedding.
Once caught, I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. As I bolted for the door, I might’ve plucked a few bottles of expensive champagne off the tables I passed, all while the gorgeous, angry groomsman was hot on my tail.
Outside, I jumped into a taxi. My heart ricocheted against my ribs as we drove down the block - but at least I’d escaped unscathed.
Or so I thought.
Until I realized I’d left my cell phone behind at the table.
Take one guess who found it?
This is the crazy story of how Hudson Rothschild and I met. But trust me, it’s only the tip of the iceberg.

An Invitation to a Great Story
Loved this story I’ve read quite a few Vi Keeland books but I think this is my favourite so far. The audio version is brilliantly read by Andi Arendt and Sebastian York two of my favourite voice actors. Hudson is a strong male character who I immediately fell in love with. Stella is clever and focused and both characters have great back stories. Fisher and Oliver play interesting supporting roles in the story too.I thoroughly recommend you curl up with this book. Thanks Vi, although I did find myself up until 03.34 am with it!

AN ABSOLUTE 5 STAR WINNER!!!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
AND THIS IS WHY VI KEELAND IS THE
#1 NYT BESTSELLING AUTHOR
AN ABSOLUTE WINNER!! 🏆
I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!
IT'S ALREADY MY BEST BOOK OF 2021📚🎧
Vi Keeland has only gone and done it again.
Having finished listening to this book today I couldn't wait to let you all know how super excited I am for you all to listen or read this book and that it needs to be at the top of your TBL/TBR list.
Vi has not disappointed, Stella and Hudson's story is just simply beautiful she’s created a super sexy, romantic, heart breaking story with lots of love and plenty of laugh out loud moments with the cherry on the top being the amazing narration from my number one partnership of Andi Arndt and Sebastian York who had me hooked from the start.
So I’m giving heads up now that I’m going to be using the word love A LOT!! And I also don’t want to give too much away because I want you to find everything out about this book when you actually read/listen to it.
Okay so I loved how they met, it had me laughing and swooning right from the off and you just know from that moment the spark of attraction between them would just ignite further.
I loved the moment When he whispered to her ‘you're extraordinary’ but still landed her in a position that could potentially have revealed her true identity Leaving him feeling unsure what was sexier the way she looked, how she didn't back down from a challenge or the fact she whispered in his ear ‘you're an arsehole.’
Stella and Hudson where meant to find each other. Fate brought them together and no matter what challenges were thrown their way, not even crashing a wedding as someone else, stealing expensive champagne, a wrong number, a 2 day waiting game or someone else's detailed diary could stop them heading to their happily ever after.
Stella is thoughtful, and kind has a thing for Hershey chocolate, other peoples diaries. She knows her Gin, runs her own personalised cologne company however family are not up for discussion. She's turned down a date with Hudson (even though she finds him attractive)because she wants to protect her heart.
Hudson runs his own company, he’s SUPER HOT, family are everything and Stella has simply taken his breath away, and he can’t let her get away a second time so he is prepared to wait until she is ready to ask him out on a date.
I could say loads more about this book I love, but I'm about to listen to it all over again as I feel a book hangover coming on.
I know when you dive into this book, you will want to devour it all with no breaks because the moment you meet Stella and Hudson you'll be totally hooked.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Thank you Vi for a cracker of a book to start 2021 0f with a bang.

ANOTHER BRILLIANT LISTEN FROM VI KEELAND
Another captivating read from Vi Keeland
I listened to this book in audio, I absolutely love the narrators that narrate Vi's books, they really bring the characters to life and suit the character's personalities so well.
About the plot
Stella is a struggling businesswoman who made the decision to go on her own, launch her own business, and produce her own perfume company Signature scent after working for Estee Lauder.
She meets Hudson when after an invitation comes through her door for a wedding for an ex-roommate her gay best friend persuades her to go and pretend to be the ex-roommate and he also goes as her plus one.
Epic fail when she introduces herself as the other woman because Hudson the bride's sister knows said woman well, she was his sister's friend and his secretary some time ago.
There's a lot more to this story and the development is brilliant, I was eagerly wanting to know where it would all end up between Stella and Hudson, who was without a doubt attracted to each other when they first lay eyes on each other.
Hudson is a sexy father and businessman, he's grumpy, demanding, and has a huge soft heart beneath the hard exterior.
Stella lacks confidence but she is a likable character.
As the story develops Stella who runs out of finances needs Hudson's business support. He invests in new businesses and backs them. It's Hudson's sister whose wedding she crashed who takes on Stella's business plan wholeheartedly and loves Stella's ideas but first, they need the backing of Hudson who is a tough nut to crack.
There is so much more to both character's stories and I loved every minute of it. There's angst, surprises, hotness, and heartwarming moments.
I Can't wait to delve into more stories from Vi Keeland. I have yet to read or listen to one I do not like.

Love's new hope despite heartache
I enjoyed this story so much I listened to it straight through. Stella and Hudson have both been left bitter and betrayed from previous relationships. But on their initial meeting Stella and Hudson are both attracted to one another. Sebastian does a fabulous job with that sexy voice of his. I would love to award this audiobook with 10 stars. Well worth listening to ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Fist/Pump- Brilliant!
I preordered this book as the author is one of my favourite and the narrators- the best. Sebastian just melts me!!!!
At first I could not get into it but as I persevered it all fell into place.
What a lovely story! I enjoyed it. I laughed. I cried.
The storyline was just pure brilliance. You could not predict anything. The story flowed and just took the readers to greater heights. Yes Hudson was a real ass but ended up being a genuine softy!
I have recommended to many and will read again at least 2 times more as it helps to fully understand and appreciate the story.
Totally enjoyable.

Just okay
I should know this by now, but Vi Keeland’s books are just a little too cheesy and sugar sweet for me. I was drawn into this one because the reviews indicated that it is really steamy. Anyone who says that hasn’t read steamy done right. I won’t buy another book by her, because I like a little more chemistry and a little less cheese.

Such a sweet and fun listen!
I love Vi’s books and was so excited to listen to this one as soon as it came out. The story was funny, sweet, and even the heavy parts captivated me. I’m so glad the story wasn’t about a man denying his feelings forever and then waking up one day and realizing he loved the woman. He was constant, strong, and a strong man of character, even after a previous heartbreak. The female lead was also a strong and lovely character. So much about this book put a smile on my face! I listened to it in one sitting because I was so pleased with the characters and chemistry. Great work, Vi! Loved it!

While I’ve enjoyed many of Vi Keeland’s books, this has to be my all time favorite! And of course, Sebastian York could read every audiobook if it were up to me! He and Andi Arndt make the perfect storytellers! From the clever beginning to the humorous one-liners, this book was just perfect!

Hysterical... perfect narrators
Very entertaining. Laughed out loud throughout the whole book. The narrators, Andi Arndt and Sebastian York, as always, were on point. As good as the story was, I’m not sure that other narrators would have done it justice.

One of the best!
This is one of the best books I have listened to on Audible. There is so much more than just sex in this book, although there is enough! Great job Ms. Keeland! I can't wait for more like this!

Pass
Not sure why this book got such great reviews. I kept waiting for something cool to happen. There was ALMOST some chemistry between the couple. It was just boring and cheesy. Nothing keeping me coming back

Destiny is in the Air!!
First let me say that I want my own true “Signature Scent.”..send me that kit!! How great was this story. It started out with so much fun as two best friends crash a wedding at the New York Public Library..and little did we know that was one of the big links that pulled this story together. It was fun and yet there was the element of intrigue and mystery woven throughout the book that we were trying to connect as the story progressed. Then, there were the diaries that Stella loved to read…and those readings were probably one of the most “important character” in the story.. giving us the clues we needed to understand how the earth was playing with Hudson and Stella’s destiny. You have to read it..it is so much more than a romance novel. Another great Vi book…she never disappoints. Worthy of more than 5-stars.
Sebastian and Andi...you were perfect!!

Vi Keeland does it again! Amazing book!
Another amazing book by Vi! I was so looking forward to this book and Vi didn't let me down. Loved Hudson & Stella. So many great nuances throughout the story that kept me on my toes. Loved it. Amazing narration by Andi Arndt & Sebastian York as always!

Vi Keeland is fantastic!
Thanks gosh she writes plenty. Otherwise my life would not have the same spark.
No one who reads her books would want to watch tv or do anything else for fun.
Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are the ones to bring this up to new levels when they perform.
And believe me, it is an artful skilled performance.
Have you read the book first and then read it again on Audible? Have you tried the craft of narrating yourself? And have you compared to ordinary ones? It all adds up to the experience and how you will memorize that book with a collage of your favorite savourings. Just like when they choose to make a movie from your favorite book; or when you go about trying different flavours of Tiramisu around town.
They all make the stories so relatable and endearing. They make dreams jazzed, they inspire you to be an even better person. They give you hope. They spread joy and hours of fun to your life; cherry on top the great sense of humour and intelligence of the stories.
I am eternally in love and happiness because of these 3 artists; author and narrators. They are my favorites!
