Story
It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

Money or love? Which would you choose? You probably just answered the question in your head, thinking it's an easy decision. For me, it's not. Did I mention it's a lot of money? A hell of a lot. I needed to go far away to think it through. As I embarked on an impulsive trip, I hit a detour when I met sexy Carter in the airport lounge. We struck up a heated conversation. Then, he left. I thought I'd never see him again. But fate had other plans. Surprise! He was the pilot of my flight.

It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

Hockey star Max Yearwood was everything I needed at the time - fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months, since he’d signed with a new team 3,000 miles away. Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right? Though, you know what they say about the best-laid plans.

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old". Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

When I first encountered Ford Donovan, I had no idea who he was...well, other than the obvious. Young, gorgeous, successful, smart. Did I mention young? If I did, it bears repeating. Ford Donovan was too young for me. Let’s back up to how it all started. My best friend decided I needed to start dating again. So, without my knowledge, she set up a profile for me on a popular dating site - one that invited men ages 21 to 27 to apply for a date.

Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? I waited until he was in the shower, then ghosted him.

The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Finding a good roommate through a classified ad isn’t as easy as it sounds. I was starting to lose hope. Until a knock at my door came, and God answered my prayers. Except...uh...wrong prayer, God. I’d definitely requested the big guy find me a drop-dead gorgeous man on more than one occasion...just not as my roommate. Declan Tate talked me into interviewing him anyway. While he was amusing and charismatic, I wouldn’t have been comfortable living with a man, so I regretfully declined. Then, cupcakes showed up at my door.

After getting dumped, the last thing I needed was to move next door to someone who reminded me of my ex-boyfriend, Elec. Damien was a hotter version of my ex. The neighbor I dubbed "Angry Artist" also had two massive dogs that kept me up with their barking. He wanted nothing to do with me. Or so I thought until one night I heard laughter coming through an apparent hole in my bedroom wall.

Fell in love with the brothers
- By maryg on 08-12-16
Summary
It started out like any other morning on the train - until I became mesmerized by the guy sitting across the aisle. He was barking at someone on his phone like he ruled the world. Who did the stuck-up suit think he was...God?
Actually, he looked like a god. That was about it.
When his stop came, he got up suddenly and left. So suddenly, he dropped his phone on the way out. I might have picked it up. I might have gone through all of his photos and called some of the numbers. I might have held on to the mystery man's phone for days, until I finally conjured up the courage to return it.
When I traipsed my ass across town to his fancy company, he refused to see me. So, I left the phone on the empty desk outside the arrogant jerk's office. I might have also left behind a dirty picture on it first, though.
I didn't expect him to text back.
I didn't expect our exchanges to be hot as hell.
I didn't expect to fall for him - all before we even met.

ANOTHER BRILLIANT STORY BY THESE TWO AUTHORS
“The way he was so dominating and controlling, yet exercised restraint to respect my wishes, was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen.”
Another book by these two authors that I could not get enough of, I love these two authors on their own and also when they come together. I've said this before but they really do seem to know what I like in a romance read and the plot always has a perfect blend of everything I love, hotness, humour, a good story line, a bit of angst and of course a hea.
The story begins with Graham Morgan AKA stuck up suit, a rich businessman who for once was taking the train because his driver was off and he couldn't get a driver, a day to day thing for Soraya who does not have the luxury of having her own driver and takes the train daily to work were she is an assistant to a agony columnist in a newspaper.
When Graham Morgan loses his phone on the train it's Soraya who finds it and you would think this would be a meet cute, however it's not, Soraya keeps hold of it a few days and has a good snoop and basically after getting more curious about the man goes to his office to return it, is he grateful? well no, that wouldn't be Graham Morgan at all, he's a grump, a workaholic and doesn't know the meaning of the word please or thank-you, hence going through numerous secretaries a month.
When Graham is nothing but rude to Soraya by refusing to come out of his office because he's busy when she visits to return his phone she gives him a piece of her mind through his office intercom and sends him pictures of her legs, and other body parts to let him see what he missed out on, a good on ya girl kind of moment lol
Graham is left with the images and can't help but wonder who this woman is who actually stood up to him, a series of texts continue between them until he spots a woman's feet on the train who has the same tattoo as the one in the mystery woman's picture on his phone.
I enjoyed Soraya and Grahams journey, I laughed out loud, enjoyed Grahams journey from grump to swoon-worthy guy and I had a happy sigh at the hea.
I listened to this in audio and although it was well narrated I do prefer other narrators these authors have used before I wasn't that keen on the male narrators voice who sounded a little creepy and took me a bit to get used to his voice.

bored
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Found the whole story a bit boring. Did not make me laugh, cry or cringe like so many of the other books from Penelope Ward or Vi Keeland. I thought the heroine was annoying.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The voice of Maxine Mitchell was annoying, made the heroine nagging.

Didn't live up to its potential.
I really liked the characters but the story kind of annoyed me. The story was developing nicely and all of a sudden after fending off many obstacles, one of the characters does a complete 180 and decides to leave. (Trying not to give away too much in the review). It seemed so typical and manufactured for me. I'm all for supporting some drama and angst, but this just seemed so forced. On the upside, the narrators were excellent.

Lots of Emotional Angst
Where does Stuck-Up Suit rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The female Narrator did a good job. The male narrator wasn't bad, but he must be Irish because he couldn't seem to help adding a slight hint of an accent to the characters. Thank goodness most of the story was told from the female POV.
What did you like best about this story?
The author has an excellent writing style. The author gave plenty of build to the relationship, and plenty of depth to the main characters. Those are the things that make an exceptional story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Laughed out Loud, and It gave me enough angst to cause me have a stomach ache
Any additional comments?
I have to say this story was the best and the worst of reads for me. The first half of the story was written with our heroine Soraya as a snarky, witty, take no crap young lady. It had plenty of laugh out loud banter lines, both of which I love to read.
The hero Graham, started out as a miserable rotten alpha-hole, but turned very quickly into a swoon worthy hero.
The second half simply had too much angst for me.
The story was very predictable, and it had my stomach rolling with some emotional triggers that I knew were coming. When Soraya turned into a TSTL heroine, I hated that! The confrontation scene with the ex-girlfriend, had me so pissed that our smartass girl turned into a weak kneed wussy!... Ugh!... The whole scene hit one my reading triggers and I was sick to my stomach. From there it just kept getting worse for me.

Good but lacking something
This is the third audiobook written by Vi Keeland that I have listen to and it was entertaining but it lacked something that her books Egomaniac and Bossman had going for them. For one thing this book lacked the wit and humor that the other two books had and some parts of the storyline had me rolling my eyes.
It just was too hard to swallow that such a jerk like Graham could turn to total mush and sappiness in less than a month of being with Soraya. Then sassy Soraya goes from playing hard to get only to crumble at the drop of a shoe to Graham's charm? It just was too easy and the fact that they barely retained the personalities that first drawn one and other and become all so saccharine. Graham was way too sharing and sentimental quickly. I like a little slow burn in my characters.
I found the story to be tender and sweet at times that made me enjoy what was going on with the two characters but then it started to lose something for me when I found that these two people who are supposed to have common sense lose it so easily to insecurities. Also, they lost a lot of their spunk that made them so charming. The story just didn't have the same complexities that I found in Vi Keeland's other books and I really did miss the humor that made me guffaw in her other writings.
All in all, the book wasn't bad and I did like it enough to be drawn in to the story and finish it. Which is saying a lot considering there were at least 3 books within a week I would start and stop because the story was just so painful to get through. Vi Keeland's books are never painful to try to read. If anything her storytelling is so good that you just get sucked in within the first two chapters and stick around for the rest of the ride. She's quickly becoming one of my favorite romance writers. Looking forward to reading and listening to more of her work.

I just realized, while reading this book, that I think I really like Vi Keeland's books; but, the female narrator, M.M., brings the experience way down for me. Her dramatic inflections of her style of speaking, makes mundane sentences like "...riding the elevator." to the most exciting scenes, the same. I find myself going from exhausted from listening for any length of time, to rolling my eyes. Everything she says is poignant, dramatic, and full of introspection. It's annoying at best, and sickening at worst. She makes the character sound neurotic and ridiculous. I realized, as I've been on a Vi Keeland binge, that I consistently enjoy the books that M.M. doesn't narrate. That's a bummer. I may be ready to actually avoid this narrator, even if it means skipping certain authors'/books' because I just can't listen. A first for me. I can usually deal...

Don’t waste your time...
The short version: the story was interesting for about the first hour, then begins the downhill slide. The female heroine goes from badass to insecure and whiny. The male lead is an incomprehensible dual personality that does not flow. The overuse of pornographic terminology is random and seems incongruent with the story. I rarely stop listening to books without pressing to the end, even if I am unimpressed. With this book, I just couldn’t keep going.

Female Narrator is HORRIBLE!! + Stupid Female Lead
The first thing I noticed was that the female narrator, Maxine Mitchell, has no business narrating stories. Her inflection is abominable and she reads the story like a news caster updating you on the disasters in New Orleans. Her chosen inflection makes no sense whatsoever and is repetitive for no reason. She makes it sound like Soraya is constantly confused. The purpose of inflection if to inform the listener of the mood of what is happening. Mitchell would use surprised tones to express normal daily occurrences, for example. There is absolutely NO way to gauge the mood of the story just by listening to her. I don't ever want to listen to another book narrated by her.
Joe Arden, on the other hand, seemed to know exactly what he was doing. His narration was the saving grace for this read.
About the Story
Okay, so when I started reading this book I really liked the direction it was going. It was like a 50 shades with a bit of a different spin. But when I got to the last couple chapters and Soraya was being fucking stupid, I put the book down. I am so sick of reading about people in relationship making the insanely idiotic decision to push the love of their life away, making them believe they cheated or don't love them, all because they think it's what's best for the other person. NEVER DENY A PERSON THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHAT IS BEST FOR THEM!!!! This is NEVER okay. 99.9% of the time you're so wrong to the degree that it actually ruins the person's life. If you love someone, don't rob them of the right to make their own life decisions.
GAAAHHHHHHH STUPID PEOPLE!!! This is NOT entertaining to read about! It just pisses me off so much that I get super stressed reading the book. I want to read to be entertained; not stressed. I actually wish Graham would have slept with Janine and Soraya would have caught them in the act. That's what Soraya's dumb ass deserved.

Not my favorite story/narrator was not a good fit
The poor girl meets rich man has been overdone lately. Add to that unbelievable scenarios, over the top smart mouthed female and the male narrator sounding older than the main male character I had a hard time listening to the end. It was a bargain purchase and I did listen to the end.

THIS IS A REAL GEM.... TRY NOT TO MISS IT
IMO, everything about this listen was just perfect.... the loveable characters, the build-up, the chemistry, the witty banter, their flirty texts, the Ask Ida Column, the twist and all the things in between as Soraya and Graham's love story passionately plays out. It's quirky, fresh, feisty and funny in the beginning then it goes on to add romance, sex, touching and sweet scenes, a shocking life altering twist, angst/drama with a bitchy ex, a bit of tormented heartache, a HEA and a wonderful and very funny Epilogue. And, I'm sure that it'll leave you with a smile on your face.
Dual POV's, a very addictive and enjoyable storyline, a feisty, sassy ballsy Heroine who likes to color the ends of her hair depending on her mood and a handsome rich 'tamed' Alpha Hero who's got a dirty mouth, good secondary characters and great narration too. The H/H may be very different types at the start but, through character growth and love, they compliment each other rather than conflict with one another. Vi and Penelope please keep em coming.... I'm loving every one.
Worth a credit? Yes, it effortlessly did what it was supposed to do... it drew me in and transported me to various locals where I could visualize these two well developed characters as their love story was so well described, well written and well narrated. So this is..... wait for it..... well worth the credit. ta da.

✫✫ 3.5 Stars ✫✫
I enjoyed this book however I didn't LOVE it like I thought I would. It was funny which I wasn't really expecting but it also didn't have anything that made it stand out against the other books just like it. The characters were likable, the sex was hot and the story line was sweet. What I didn't like was the typical "drama" that every book has that causes them to break up, it was silly and so predictable. The ending did redeem that a little for me though, it was sweet and a great HEA.
The narration was also just ok for me. In the very beginning I didn't like the narration at all but I got used to it and would give them 3.5 stars too.
