About this listen
The absence of Flavia DeLuce’s mother, Harriet, has always cast a shadow, since her presumed death in a mountaineering accident in Tibet. Now, astonishingly, a specially commissioned train is bringing Harriet back to Buckshaw. But rather than putting the past finally to rest, Harriet's return is set to trigger a further series of bizarre and deadly events, as a most curious group of individuals converge on Buckshaw to pay their respects…

Wonderful idiosyncratic, funny,unique heroine
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I love these books. Flavia is a unique amateur detective. She is frighteningly intelligent, unstoppable, funny and yet vulnerable. Why can't I find all the books in the series on audible? Even some I have don't seem available now. There is a new one due out in September 2016. Why can't I find it to pre order on audible? Is it because there is a film coming out?
What did you like best about this story?
The main character , the setting, the humour and unusual plot. Enjoyed all the books in the series so far.
What about Sophie Aldred’s performance did you like?
She captured the character beautifully.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
Any additional comments?
More Flavia de Luce please! Bravo Alan Bradley. These books are both funny and dark with a wonderful heroine. I love Flavia.

Not my cup of tea
As this book had many good reviews I continued to listen rather than giving up after a couple of chapters. I did manage to put my initial dislike of the narrator's style behind me as I realised she sounds prissy because she is telling the story on behalf of a prissy girl. The unveiling of the murderer all happens very quickly and with little explanation as to how the police find out. Not great and I shan't be downloading any more.
