About this listen
*The New York Times and USA Today bestseller!*
Florence Day is a ghost-writer with one big problem. She’s supposed to be penning swoon-worthy novels for a famous romance author but, after a bad break-up, Florence no longer believes in love. And when her strict (but undeniably hot) new editor, Benji Andor, won’t give her an extension on her book deadline, Florence prepares to kiss her career goodbye.
Although when tragedy strikes and Florence has to head home, the last thing she expects to see is a ghost at her front door. Not just any ghost, however, but the stern form of her still very hot – yet now unquestionably dead – new editor.
As sparks start to fly between them, Florence tells herself she can’t be falling for a ghost – even an infuriatingly sexy one. But can Benji help Florence to realise love isn’t dead, after all?
If you fell in love with Beach Read, The Love Hypothesis and The Hating Game, this laugh-out-loud romance packed with sizzling chemistry will give you all the feels!

"We could all use a good summer ghost story, and you can't get much better than Ashley Poston's adult fiction debut." (Entertainment Weekly)
"I LOVED this book. A beautiful, poignant story, full of beautiful, poignant characters… at the end all the pieces fall perfectly into place, and the picture that they form is at once touching, funny, breathtaking, hopeful, and dreamy." (Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis)
"The Dead Romantics was an absolute and unexpected delight. Voicy and quirky and fun; the pages will probably sparkle (but with black glitter)." (Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners)

Such a unique story
This is my second Ashley Poston book and I can say without a doubt that I haven’t read anything like her work before. Her writing is beautiful, the stories incredibly unique and moving, and her words hit deep.
The story of a ghostwriter, her dead editor, and her family that owns a funeral home is not one I will be forgetting any time soon. I was immensely moved.
The audiobook performance was fantastic as well - a great single narration style production.

A little sad, a little sappy & completely wonderful
I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did, but I loved this cute story. Honestly the first chapter had me thinking that it might have been a bit too “rom-com-y” for my tastes right now, but the characters made me love them, feel for them & need to find out what would happen to them. The author writes believable characters that aren’t cliched - the unconventional female lead doesn’t fall into the “clumsy” trope that can’t get out of her own way, the homosexual characters aren’t dramatic cliches, there are no irredeemable “bitch” characters…
This felt Molly Harper-esk, with the quirky characters & supernatural aspects, but with slightly more depth. Throughly enjoyed this book!

Beautiful
I lost track of how many times I cried throughout this book. Did I predict the ending? Yes, but it was still worth the journey.
Beautifully written story that I will no doubt go back to. Would most certainly recommend. Ghosts, tales of loss, finding yourself and most importantly, standing up for yourself.
Really enjoyed the narrators voice too.

A solid 3.5 stars
This took a long time to get into and only really started to love it about half way through. I feel a lot of plots weren’t fully resolved and left with a lot of questions. An enjoyable read.

Wow!
I read this 3.5 months ago and am still thinking about it now. I’ll say it’s not for everyone’s tastes but I cannot tell you how much I loved this book. It made me laugh, it made me cry and I fell in love with the characters. Such a comfort that I know I will be going back to read whenever I need it 🥰

Cute but predictable
Narration is great but the story is very similar to the movie Just Like Heaven. But I loved the movie so I did enjoy this read!

Boring teenage fluff.
I got this as it was recommended off the back of another book I enjoyed. However, this is just boring teenage fluff. I thought that the ghost element would make it interesting (like a Molly Harper book), but no. We have a couple of plot points and the rest is filler.
I've not even finished it as I feel that it's wasting my time. Will be returning I'm afraid.
