About this listen
A Sunday Times best seller.
A house of secrets....
As a massive storm batters the Scottish coast, Gordon Smith’s home is falling into the sea. The trouble is: that’s where he’s been hiding the bodies.
A killer on the run....
It’s too dangerous to go near the place, so there’s no way of knowing how many people he’s murdered. Or how many more he’ll kill before he’s caught.
An investigator with nothing to lose....
As more horrors are discovered, ex-detective Ash Henderson is done playing nice. He’s got a killer to catch, and God help anyone who gets in his way.

"Stuart MacBride’s deft plotting and whipcrack dialogue, along with a strong sense of place, make The Coffinmaker’s Garden a must read. If you like your serial killers with lashings of dark humour, this is for you." (Peter Robinson, number one best-selling author of the DCI Banks series)
"The Coffinmaker's Garden is brilliantly creepy, with the most cleverly conceived crime scene I've ever read. His legions of fans will love this – it's an unmistakable Stuart MacBride cocktail of dark violence and even darker humour." (Jane Casey, Sunday Times best-selling author of The Cutting Place)
"A brutal, visceral read, laced with the blackest of humour and travelling to some very dark places." (Guardian)

Fantastic!
I really enjoy the Logan McRae stories but these step it up a notch again. The narrator is great as well which can make a huge difference. Highly recommended!

Brilliant Read with excellent narration
There was tension, surprise, humour and a bit of violence, all captured brilliantly by Ian Hanmore's excellent narration. The book would be a great read alone, but Ian's superb delivery just made it come alive.
Very much recommended.

Riveting
As always a a great read and greanaration. Stuart MacBride never fails in delivering a white knuckle adventure, a bit grim in places but Ian Hanmore kept you on the edge of your seat with his articulate narration.

Fabulous - couldn't put it down
An absolutely fantastic book. Couldn't put it down. Listened flat out. Didn't want it to finish. Excellent narrator who adds so much to the story. The characters are so fully described, I feel like I know them all. Next please

Good stuff
With Ash being more of an anti-hero, these are harsher stories to go along with than the Logan McRae books. Intriguing and “enjoyable” nonetheless, with excellent characters. Some light relief too - no spoilers, but look out for the Book Club meeting scene. I particularly like (not the right word, but you know what I mean!) Joseph and Francis, with their relative modes of speech - who knew a psychopath could have a catchphrase?!*? Remind me of Pin and Tulip from Discworld. Is Mr McBride a fan, I wonder? The Narrator has an excellent clear voice and good style, however unlike many other reviewers, I cannot differentiate between the characters, which is occasionally off putting. His accents are identifiable (Scouse, Geordie) but not particularly good. Certainly not bad enough to put me off (unlike several others), but a tad jarring at times. Still loved it overall.
