Summary

In T L Swan’s steamy third installment of the Miles High Club, Kate’s hot new pen pal is a welcome distraction from her horrible boss. But nobody is as distracting as Elliot Miles...and he knows it.

My favorite hobby is infuriating Elliot Miles. Just the sight of my boss’s handsome face triggers my sarcasm. God knows how he earns his Casanova reputation—if a million women want him with his personality, what the heck am I doing wrong?

Disgusted with my love life, I join a dating app under a fake name. I start chatting to a man named Edgar. He’s not my type and lives on the other side of the world, but we hit off a friendship, laugh and confide in each other.

But lately things are getting weird at work. Elliot’s being...attentive. His eyes linger a little longer than they should, and there’s a heat behind them that I haven’t felt before. And then, in the shock of all shocks, he tells me that my vulnerability is appealing. But when was I vulnerable?

Horror dawns...Has my boss been reading my emails to Edgar?

Damn it, why did I use my work email?

Oh no, does he know what I really think of him? I’d rather die than ever admit it.

Or, even worse: is it possible that the man I loathe in real life is the man I’m falling for online?

Loved it

Great story but the narration was disappointing, Kate should have been narrated by an English person, I had to grit my teeth and listen, though by the end I switched back to the book

Spoiled by female narrator

If I ever see this lady listed as the narrator in future I will not buy the book. Worst English accent ever, and dripping with phony attempt at class. How any man could stand her is out of the question, she spoiled the whole story. Sorry to be negative but spare yourself this ordeal if you’re thinking of getting this book get it on kindle.

Unable to finish

Having read the 3 ebooks in the Miles High series, I believe this is the weakest of them but I had also listened to the audiobooks of the first two, very much enjoyed them, and decided to complete the set..
After 15 minutes I couldn’t take any more of the appalling British accent and decided to call it a day. Does anyone truly believe there is a single English person who speaks that way - I have never met one and I worked in London for over 25 years with a great variety of people.
It was honestly worse than Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins but at least that was funny. Unless the narrator is very skilled, PLEASE use an English narrator for an English character.
Having read the ebook I skipped to the end of the narration as that is amusing and only involves American characters from what I remember.

T book is better than the audio.

The book fails the British reader because of the author's lack of knowledge of England, and the constant Americanisms. The audio book fails awfully, and I mean awfully, for the same reason.
It is an unintentional parody.

Agree with the other comments on narration

The story keeps up the level of the others! Witty, captivating and fun! Can’t wait for the next in the series, I love the humour and has made me laugh out loud often, you do need to listen/read all the books in the series!l they are brilliant!

Have to agree with the female narration though, as English it’s actually quite insulting…the narrators accent would be great for something such as pride and prejudice or Emma but not for this kind of book!

Amazing story but dodgy accents

As with all TL Swan books this story was amazing and swooonyyy.

The only issue is the female narrator’s British accent - it was so bad and kept slipping back American
Shame really as the story is great - would recommend just reading the book instead of audible

Ruined by the terrible British accents

loved the story especially with the animals at enchanted would have liked to have heard a scene with the pig and pony I assume they must be dead as he never checked them !
male narrator was great he brought Elliott to life
but OMG cj bloom is a favourite with me and this was awful I had to grit my teeth to listen to her awful British accent thank god she kept slipping out of it . It was a cross between Bridget Jones and Mary Poppins plum in the mouth comes to mind !!! who the hell talks like this not a plumber as Kate kept saying, please please do your research if doing another English character it was butchered as we say in blighty !!

Disappointing narration

I love T L Swan’s books, and the narrators are usually excellent. However, with this book l had to force myself to listen so l could hear the story. Why did they not use an English narrator? If the you want an English character, then please please please use English words.
Listen to the book so you know what happens but don’t expect to enjoy it 🤦🏼‍♀️

A good listen in the Miles brothers series.

Whilst the English accent was quite good, the pronunciation of some words was inaccurate and annoying (e.g. preeetence instead of pritence) as were some of the words used (e.g. elevator instead of lift). Also, there was some similarity in text used to that in The Stopover.. not much, but noticeable. Having said that, in my opinion, it was a good story, well read and definitely worth the listen. I'm pleased that I added it to my library and will probably listen to it again.

Great story

I love the twists though predictable for me. Ryan West ruined this for me. He was a slow reader and lacked emotions specially on the funny parts. Thankfully CJ did most of the chapters and I love her. I get that some would question her British accent but it did not matter to me, I still lover her. Overall, Stopover and Takeover are still better. Hopefully Sebastian York would be available for Chris' story.

Knocked it out of the park!

I have loved all of TL Swans books. But this one just had me from the start. The characters were so well developed. The humor and bantering had me laughing throughout the book. The emotional interactions between Kathryn and Elliot was Full of just the right amount of angst and care that they both can work through their issues from the past that kept them in a love-hate relationship for a while until the surprise ending. Wow, what a twist and what a phenomenal love story. One if not the best HEA‘s I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. You do not wanna miss one’
P.s Hot hot hot love scenes.

Twist Ending

I loved this story. Tristan is still my favorite Mike’s brother though and having him and his boys come into this story made me enjoy it that much more. I did really enjoy the ending because I didn’t guess it at all. It surprised me! And the humor added into the story was great. The farm animal scenes had me laughing out loud. Beautiful love story that I will be recommending.

Surprising ending

I really enjoyed this story. I have read other books by this author and have loved them also. I did find that this book was slow at the beginning but was well worth the wait. I read about a book a day so I don’t write a review unless I feel that it is worth the info for someone else. It is definitely worth pushing through. I laughed and cried a little. The ending really was a surprise twist. I don’t usually find books that can surprise me like this one did. Will definitely continue reading other books by this author.

The male protagonist is disappointing

He has always been a bit of a selfish douche throughout the entire story, totally irredeemable. I don’t see why Kate love him.

Love the story, but.......

I have listened to all three of the available Miles High books and I absolutely love the stories and will likely continue to listen to TL Swan books ....... BUT, the wording is very repetitive in all three books. The love scenes across all three books are very repetitive as well. The wording to describe what is happening is exactly the same throughout. I feel like the editor didn't adequately do their job.

EX:
They curled their lips
Lump in their throat.
A couple more that are probably not suitable to type out here in a review during the love scenes.

I can't even tell you how many times I heard these phrases throughout the 3 books.

Like I said the stories were amazing, but the repeating of phrases and actions got old. Hoping that an editor will step in sooner or later and fix these issues on new books coming out.

One of my Top Ten stories of the year!

This story is actually in pole position so far! The narration is superb. CJ and Ryan brought their A-games for this book and you can absolutely tell the difference right from the start. They both bring their characters to life. You feel their joy, heartache, and happiness. I'm absolutely ruined now, so all of the audiobook narrators better bring it because I now know how great a story can be when narrators put their hearts into their characters. I have heard CJ in The Stopover, the first book in this series. The male lead was good in that story, but she's the one that made me want to listen to the other books in this series. This story is my favorite out of the three available. If you purchase the book, you can usually get the Audible book for $7.49. In today's economy, that adds up really fast. I think now, more than ever before people are watching their money and not making frivolous purchases. I'm the same way about it now because I used to have more money to purchase audiobooks. Now, we're tightening our purse strings, and I refuse to buy a badly narrated book. All narrators better listen to this because people are not spending their money on non-necessary items, which includes audiobooks! I have heard some great narrators, but I also have a lot of audiobooks that I regret buying because the story might be solid, but poor narration will kill it every time. This audiobook is well worth your $7.49! Enjoy the satisfaction of a purchase well made.😉

Great Book and Series

This author writes some great love stories. I’ve especially enjoyed this series. It’s always interesting to see how these powerful men who loaded with money get brought to their knees by women. I don’t wanna give any spoilers
but need to say it’s well worth reading & listening to!
