Summary
Self-made billionaire Nathan Trainor feels restless and disillusioned. His company may be thriving, but he can't find a woman who sees him for more than his wealth. With his love life in the red, he meets two other billionaire bachelors at the ultra-exclusive Bellwether Club. The three of them make a wager of the heart: they must find women who love them for who they are, not their money.
Savvy office temp Chloe Russell is trying to scrape together the money she needs to support her grandmother. So when a flu epidemic strikes Trainor Electronics and she's promoted to Nathan Trainor's assistant, she jumps at the lucrative opportunity. But then Nathan himself falls ill, and he and Chloe must work from his penthouse while he recuperates. Before long, it's clear there's genuine heat between them, and it's more than just a fever spike. Will Nathan win Chloe's heart - and the bet? Or will their differences destroy any chance for love?

Oooh, this is very good
This is the first book I've purchased by Nancy Herkness and I wasn't disappointed.
Although I don't know what else will come I'm seriously looking forward to the next in this series...
A note about Lauren Ezzo, this narrator is also new to me and what a gem wonderful clear voice with believable accents.

Cutting Both Ways
Tantalizing tale of Chloe and Nathan's meeting. He owns his Marine father's sword he cannot live up to, and a patent to a product he designed that made him a billionaire. She is a temp at his office, who wipes his sweated brow when he is sick This writer has crafted a well written, and intricate tear-jerking tale, that at times is swamped in too much descriptive porn, irrelevant to this amusing and enjoyable book. Overall, worth the 12 hrs. A better title might have been: Live By the Sword. (the sword being a metaphor as well as a simile).
This narrator takes her time to add tone and tempo. There is no high pitched gabbling like so many younger American narrators'. There is very little swearing, no drugs, but a little excessive drinking. I feel this author is English from the style of writing, the terms used, and just the superior quality of narrative in a native tongue. Will check out this author again.
ENJOYABLE

Well Written Book
An enjoyable love story by author Nancy Herkness. Combined with humor, tears, and romance, this is one book that will be impossible to put down.... (18+)......Angry that he was just lied to by another woman, billionaire and CEO of Trainor Electronics, Nathan Trainor sat by himself in the elite Bellwether Club, drinking away his scorn. Before long, he was joined by two other billionaires, and together, they made a bet. They would auction off something very important and valuable to each of them, if they could find the woman of their dreams, who loved them strictly for themselves, and not their money, but most importantly, it had to happen within a year. A wager of the heart? Why not? Only the next day, Nathan was regretting that decision, that is, until he met his new temp. While taking care of her grandmother at home, Chloe Russell was nervous and excited to be starting her new temp job at Trainor Electronics. She was only to be a receptionist at the lowest level, so, imagine her surprise, when she was asked to be the new temporary executive assistant to Nathan Trainor himself? Gads! He was gorgeous and sinfully sexy, but Chloe also knew that she needed to hold back any thoughts or attractions she was feeling towards this man. However, when an epidemic flu breaks out, causing Nathan to become deathly ill, the last thing Chloe ever expected, was to find herself at Nathan's penthouse, at his demanding request. Why her? She had responsibilities at home, but truth be told, she didn't want to be any closer to Nathan Trainor than she already was. Keeping his thoughts close to his heart, Nathan couldn't admit to anyone, that he had a strong attraction for Chloe Russell. To him, she was beautiful, sexy, smart, and caring, and not only that, he respected her to the highest level. Determined to keep her at all costs, he insisted that she still carry out her duties, by working for him out of his penthouse until he was fully recuperated. Except some things can't be extinguished, as their chemistry ignited into flames, causing them both to have a wild, heated love affair. Chloe's instincts were telling her to run, while her heart ruled against it, but when she discovers the truth about the bet, nothing could prepare her for the outcome of her heart breaking in two. Will the bet bring them closer together? Or will this wager of the heart drive them further apart than they ever thought possible?.........thank you.....♡♡
Lauren Ezzo was OK with the delivery of the story but her male voices need work.

Can't get passed immature narration...
The narrator reads about like a high schooler.
The opening isn't particularly interesting, but I'll give the written version a try to see if it becomes better.
Uninteresting and peppered with unnecessary and unhelpful details so far.I don't care if someone adds both salt and pepper to a sandwich!
I can't review it beyond that.

WELL I'M ONE HAPPY BUNNY
The Publisher's Summary sums up this story well.. so all I'll add is that it has a very good and very enjoyable boss/assistant storyline which included humor, lots of sexcapades and a tiny bit of angst as two likeable characters have instant chemistry and very quickly fall for each other. But Chloe the Temp has obligations and can't believe that handsome Billionaire Nathan is looking for anything long-term so she eventually sacrifices her heart for job security. There's also a bit of drama from her Grandmother and Nathan's estranged Father.
I can't believe this very entertaining story of Chloe and Nathan's took place over a course of just a few weeks because there seemed to be so many layers to this and it never dragged. Dual POV's and good narration made it a captivating listen.
Worth a credit? Yes it would've been.. but at $7.34 for a 12.18 hr listen meant I didn't need to use a credit because anything under $10 I just buy to save my credit for a more expensive book AND I bought the three book series in Audible's half price sale so right now I'm doing the happy dance.

Storyline had potential, weak writing killed it.
What disappointed you about The CEO Buys In?
The story stalled with overuse of descriptives, unreal scenarios, actions and reactions from the characters, author's lack of knowledge. If writing about something you don't know, research!
What didn’t you like about Lauren Ezzo’s performance?
The narrator's voice is good, a little slow though, and for this story that was already slow, made it painful
Any additional comments?
I bought this during a sale to give the author a try... I couldn't finish it.

Only Half a Book
The CEO Buys In is only half (or a third) of a novel. It just stops after 6 hours so suddenly that I thought my MP3 player had died.
It's the start of an interesting story about 3 rich men who wonder if they would ever find real love with women NOT only interested in a sugar daddy.
I enjoy a book series if each one is a complete story; this one is like paying for a full course dinner and only getting an appetizer.

Just so-so
I listened to the audiobook. The narrator was sub-par. I believe having a second narrator who was a man would help give the story more depth.
As for the story itself, it was bland and fell flat in too many places. There wasn’t enough depth of feeling. Maybe this was partly the narrator’s fault? I’m not certain.
The storyline had serious potential, but absolutely fell flat on its face!
