This book had a lot of potential

But seemed to go downhill towards the end. I’m not sure if it was just me but it got to a point where it became very confusing, and I had to go back to listen to previous parts for it to make sense. The story could have been really good though and it wasn’t “bad” and I’m glad that I listened to it, it was just a bit of a muddle at the end.

OK

A fairly good story and I kept listening as it was engaging. However I did struggle with remembering the backgrounds and descriptions of the 6 different characters (and then their children), so after awhile decided not to bother and just enjoy the story for what it is. I wouldn't recommend listening while you doing something else that requires your concentration. But generally not bad.

Fast paced, intense, wonderful

What a horrible bunch of women!

This book full of twisting secrets and lies peppered with hugely relatable details about being a woman and the roles we play (daughter, mother, partner, friend...). Jenkins' intelligence and skill is in keeping you listening even when you know the characters don't deserve your sympathy. A gripping book right up to the end.

Piazza also does an excellent job of keeping the characters voices distinct.

Dull as ditchwater!

I am afraid I didn’t like any of the characters and it was very slow moving. Stopped listening at chapter 11.
