Good information but not the best audio
Before I bought this audio book I read the other reviews which to me sounded a little harsh! They criticised the authors way of talking, making mistakes and fumbling whilst she read the book, lip smacking and awkward giggling. I thought this was fairly harsh and so I still bought the book. The information was really good, helpful and insightful for any woman BUT! Unfortunately I would have to agree with the others that all of the mistakes, awkward giggling and lip smacking is quite off putting. It does sound like she's just picked up the book and just read it all through in one go without taking any care to edit the mistakes out. She also tries to speak like she's talking to you as if it's a podcast rather than just read it like an audio book. It is a shame as it's really good content, but I personally feel that it is really let down by the audio.

Swallowing and tongue clicking noises ruined this for me
The content is good (albeit some parts slightly cringy with lots of breathy laughs) the main issue with the podcast is that the author doesn’t do a ‘clean’ read, as in she reads quickly and gets words wrong which is distracting. But the biggest problem for me is the tongue clicking sounds and swallowing noises throughout the podcast. It’s a pity because I think she has a lot of good advice to share.

difficult to listen to. seems like a first draft.
I'm really struggling to get through the book because this author is reading her own book, but she isn't very good at reading aloud. every other sentence is a mistake or hiccup on a word, and so nothing flows.
This makes the book really uncomfortable to listen to and it feels sloppy... like she couldn't be bothered to record the audio cleanly and properly. If this was my work, my book, I'd take the time to rerecord my mistakes in reading aloud. I edit out my mistakes from my online classes and whilst it's tedious to rerecord or edit; it shows a level of love and care for my students that the author has not given to her listeners.
which is a shame because the content seems good.
