Summary

Welcome to Beechwood Harbor. A rustic, coastal town where paranormals live among humans, undetected - at least, so far.

Scarlet Sanderson isn't a paranormal being per se, but she's no stranger to things that go bump in the night. She's had the ability to see and speak with ghosts since she was eight years old. Whether it's a gift or a curse is still up for debate.

She moved to the picturesque town of Beechwood Harbor to open a flower shop and start a new life after years of being a nomad. What she didn't expect to find was a town filled with witches, vampires, shape-shifters, and ghosts. So, so many ghosts.

With her sarcastic ghost cat and a stately 20th-century gentleman by her side, she can take on the world. She just wishes that world would stop landing her in the middle of murder investigations. Cold case murders, reckless poltergeists, and depressed specters are becoming Scarlet's new normal. But how in the Otherworld is she supposed to have any kind of real life when she's stuck halfway between the world of the living and the dead?

Beechwood

The only negative thing I have to say about this story is how can a writer write a strong female char and then give her this "fatal flaw" of clinging doubt about a mans intentions? It drives me mad that this was done!
Other than that I enjoyed the story and especially Amanda Ronconi's narration, she is utterly fabulous! Well done you!

2nd try, still can't like it

I really wanted to like this one, the plot sounded great! But it just didn't work for me. I can't get through the whole book 1, let alone the entire set of 3, because she is so annoying.

Surprisingly, Ronconi--a narrator I usually really like--was a fail for me. Maybe it was because she was voicing a character I don't like? She just fell flat.

FYI I got a bit confused at first because I was expecting a different set of books. This is the Beachwood Harbor GHOST series and I had been expecting Beachwood Harbor MAGIC (specifically the Witches of Doyle) series. That doesn't change my review, just mentioning it in case someone else might be confused as well.

A good listen

What I really like about this series is that it's pretty clean... you have some likeable characters, a well developed story and some romance without all the very adult content you'll find in some novels. It's a nice light change of pace and no need to race for the "off" button if the kids walk in while you're listening.

I'm a HUGE fan of Amanda Ronconi's narration

Great Narrator/ Performer

Each character has his or her own distinct voice. Use this Narrator again! I Love her!

Fun & suspense

I hesitated at first to start this series, I knew like must of us in 2020 I needed a light hearted distraction - but too often the “lighthearted” really just comes across as silly, or even straight up ridiculous. I am so glad I took the chance - characters are fun, plots have decent suspense (I wasn’t looking for Agatha Christie - just light listening) and for a major bonus, the narrator didn’t make me want to pull my ears off. (Thank you, narrator....from all of us listeners who have suffered). Very cleverly written. Bottom line, I needed a smile, a laugh, and a harmless distraction. Garrett delivers all three - I am now a loyal reader (and listener for Ms. Ronconi’s work).

Better than Holly the Witch series

I love these new set of characters in this series. Scarlet Sanderson and her partnerLuke have great chemistry together. Scarlet is bubbly and caring to her friends and definitley fun to follow. I don't rgret buying this boxset. A nice paranormal cozy mystery. The kind of books to read on a rainy day. I love the narrator, she does an awesome job as always.

Self sabotaging main character is annoying

Kind of reminds me of Bella from the “Twilight” series. It was totally annoying when she would self sabotage and get carried away with the hero complex. Not to mention the annoying I should have done this or that over and over. Too much whining as well. I love the narrator, which is why I gave it two stars instead of one. I like the other series, “…Magic” but this one definitely fell short and it was a stretch as a spin-off. I wish I wouldn’t have wasted that credit because I would have used it for the next series of the other series. I can’t believe I listened to all three books! I should’ve known better, But I was kinda hoping it would get better. Sorry for the bad review, but I just really didn’t like the books.
