Summary
Two shattered lives. Centuries apart. Bound by a secret that could kill them both.
One February afternoon, Detective Ray Flowers' life is blown apart by a petrol bomb attack. No one can tell him who did it. Or why. Anchorless and alone, he moves to his aunt's country cottage. What he needs is perspective.

Instead, he is tormented by visions of Kitty Hallam, a troubled young woman accused of witchcraft. Back in 1643.

Terrible stilted narration
Stilted narration. Story jumps back and forth. Poor ending with lots of answered questions. Would avoid any book being narrated by Dan Calley in future.

Sack the narrator!
A shame they chose this narrator. His sing song delivery, interjected with his sucking in his breath, after every other sentence was truly annoying! The story had Quite an interesting idea though!

Not great, not bad
Easy to listen to while driving. I like the back and forth device between current time and historical. This one worked well enough. Some gaps in logic in both, especially the resolution in the modern day part, but generally I was interested enough in the characters to overlook that. Won’t be on my favorites list but sometimes I’d rather settle for a decent story than continue searching. Put this one in that category.
