Summary
Familiar faces. Brand-new alliances. An impossible enemy in their midst.
The Chicago survivors stagger into town on fumes. They’re injured, distraught, and suffering from innumerable losses. However, at Rock’s homestead - in the midst of a new threat - Fire and the group reunite with family and take refuge with local survivors.
Here, they come to realize the enemy of humanity has been posing as one of their own: a human. No one really knows what this means. Some realize they've leapt out of the frying pan and into the fire, while others see an opportunity to exact revenge. But for the select few, it means both...

Great ending!
This book was perhaps not as thrilling as the last one, but still a must listen if you have enjoyed the others. It focuses much more on Maria, but there is the climactic showdown!

Author has a gross fascination with POOP!!
This series started good but I’m asking for my credit back for this one!! Book 5 is just gross. Author descriptions of people pooing several times seems to be a fascination! Pee too! Also woman cannibalizing a little girl. And so so repetitive!!!
Repetitive with many minor characters have boring, plain faces, and the author repeats with they boring, with plain “personalities”. He also has the main woman character repeating, repeating.
The author totally gives away the ending through out the book!
Not even one of my favorite narrators can save this one.

Good ending to the series.
There is a lot of emotional ups and downs with this book. The series had to end, this was a great way to do it. Hats off to you Schow.

Great conclusion to a great story
Really enjoyed this series as it touched more on the emotional battles we would have inside ourselves during a life altering event like this. It was really easy to fall in love with the characters as they journeyed. If you enjoy post apocalyptic novels but have been looking for something done differently than the others look no further.

Truly a thought provoking story!
WOW! This last book kept me on the edge of my seat! I kept seeing different endings, then the story line would jog off into another direction. Could not anticipate from one chapter to the next. Heart dropping ending. Can’t wait to see what you do next Ryan!
Kevin, your narration was a pleasure to listen to. Will look forward to more stories read by you.
Over all, this 5 book series was a definite 5 stars!

Great series until it wasn’t…
This was a great series until it turned into unrealistic preteen AI porn. To be honest I loved everything about this series until the author added the (main) Carver and Maria storyline. Having an older 20’s professional male be soooo taken by Maria the AI’s supposed beauty that he couldn’t control his dick in the apocalypse was ridiculous. I don’t even know what to say except that it was pitiful. Had he kept that part out it would have been 5 stars all around. But alas it wasn’t. I don’t think I’ll waste any more credits on this juvenile author. What a waste of a great beginning…

Outstanding
The story line keeps one wanting more. Can’t wait for Ryan Schow to take us on a new adventure. The narrator, Kevin Pierce, makes the story realistic, and is by far the best narrator. 2 thumbs up.

awesome series
I absolutely love the series. Now there is something about this a book that was kind of annoying more than once in fact the author always showed his political leanings toward the 'right' and the innuendo that the 'right" is Right and the 'Left"is wrong and how California is somehow weak or weird and that the left is weak and the right is always stoger or just and that their survivors in the 'left'are the dead. I thought was a pretty hellacious. I guess he was pandering to the audience he thinks will gravitate to this genre. if you cam get past this you will enjoy and sometimes sickened by this story.

Best apocalypse series I have read
I loved this series. Great character development, survival and runaway AI robot. Not a prepper story but one of survival. I went through the entire series quickly.
