Summary

Across the bleak and barren moorland, there stalks a beast. It is an unknown thing; a creature from the darkest, most terrifying of nightmares.

After Ralph accidentally runs over a deer, he decides to take the animal home and ends up serving prime venison to his wife that evening. Soon, his thirst for blood becomes something different, and his life slowly spirals out of control.

As the body count rises, a local schoolteacher and a young woman become involved in the mystery. But, is Ralph really the Beast of Bodmin?

An Unnvering Tale

For horror fans this was a genuinely well read book, the atmospheric openings of each chapter draw you in. The narrator does a good job, the story is something of a slow burner though. Some may turn off, but if you stick with it, you'll have enjoyed it. As with many horror audiobooks, I probably wouldn't listen to it again, the only downside is it isn't a classic, but well worth a credit.
