Summary

From best-selling author R.L. Mathewson comes the sixth installment of the Pyte/Sentinel Series....

For listeners who enjoy paranormal romance with a twist.

For three centuries, Trace waited for this moment, imagined all the things that he would do to the Pack that tried to kill him, and now that he was free....

All he could think about was the woman that he'd claimed as his own. She was everything that he'd always wanted and once he had his revenge, he would make her his.

Sam had resigned herself to a lot of things over the years, being the town joke, blacking out at inopportune moments, and living with a dog that hated her, but what she hadn't planned on was suddenly finding five large men destroying her basement, looking for a tomb that she never knew existed. In one moment, her life changed forever, leaving her to wonder how she was going to make it out of this alive.

3.5 stars

Definitely need to listen to the earlier books in the series before this one as there are other characters involved. I did enjoy this, but didn’t feel as invested as I would have liked, hence the lower rating.

worse one yet

I couldn't get into the story or the main characters Trace and Samantha. Too many back and fourth chapters of older characters really kind of ruined it and took the attention from the main two. It seemed like the author just wanted a longer book and filled it with fillers involving past characters from the books before, also spoiling future storylines like Jill and Logans. She does this a lot but this is the worst. One or two small chapters to remind us of older characters or to fit in with the storyline is fine but this one has too many and takes up a lot of the book. I actually gave up on it ages ago when it first came out on audible, but decided recently I was being to harsh and tried listening again only to confirm what I originally thought. The narrators are good, though. And I do like Trace and Samantha, but I just can't get invested in them due to the reasons above. I'm really sorry that I had to write a negative review as I actually like the author, but I'm not sure I'll be continuing this series. From what I've read of the reviews on the next book it's looking to be just as bad. Really sad as this series had so much potential.
