Welcome to Willow Close, where everyone is a suspect....
On the day Nina and Conrad Best move into their new home in picture-perfect Willow Close a body is discovered.
Hurrying inside with their belongings, they see horrified neighbours gather by the police cordon - one of the residents has been attacked and brutally killed in the woods.
Believing someone must have seen the murderer, the police interview all the residents of the Close. They soon find out that each neighbour harbours their own secrets.
The residents of Willow Close are far from what they initially seem and strange, even dark, things happen behind their closed doors.
Nina and Conrad had thought they'd found their dream neighbourhood. But have they moved into a nightmare?
Welcome to Willow Close, where you'll fit right in....

Waste of time
Very disappointed with the fat shaming. “With the weight she was carrying it wouldn’t hurt her to go without her tea.”
WTF??? This is totally unacceptable and unnecessary.
In the few chapters I read, she comments about people’s weight, about the thin woman being lusted after, the frumpy wife who’s gained weight and a double chin, the 12 stone woman who was struggling to walk… This isn’t Love Island, this is based in real life where everyone are different shapes and sizes!
Just because someone is big, doesn’t make them less desirable.
I stopped listening after the above quote and returned it.
I was a huge fan of this author and I’ve read every book but this has put me off her for good.

Disappointed
I’m a massive fan of Lesley pearse but her recent titles haven’t been as good as the earlier ones. Her opinions tend to come out in her characters. The emphasis on fat shaming is a bit much. Then the romance is very cringy. If I had read this book before the others I wouldn’t have bothered. Go for earlier titles or ones with the names of the lead characters. I’m sorry to write this. I wanted it to be as good.

Enjoyable but not my favourite Lesley Pearse book
I enjoyed this book and the way it was narrated. I have read all of Lesley’s books and enjoyed them. Whilst this is not my favourite I still enjoyed listening to it

Rubbish
Whatever has happened to Lesley Pearse one of my favourite writers. The story was unbelievable and the narrators accents were the same for every character! Please no more rubbish!!

Her worst ever book
I am so disappointed in this story I have read all Lesley Pearse books and never been disappointed before . I am half way through and can’t be bothered listening any longer,. All it is is a convoluted history of a street of neighbours and their boring lives, and so far the investigation has hardly mentioned the poor murdered child
I just couldn’t go any further with this book.

The reader was good and clear. She did the different voices well
The characters were a bit exaggerated and predictable. The traits were a bit idealised. But the story was good

Disappointing
Was this really a Lesley Pearse book? It seemed like a cheap knockoff of a premium brand. Thin characters, woeful dialogue, archaic approach to female/male roles and societal views. I only stuck with it because of a basic need to find out who actually dunnit.

enjoyable listen while ironing
A enjoyable listen on Audiobook while I ironed. Having lived in a small cul-de-sac as a child I could relate to all the homes and families involed.
