Summary

When society collapses, one family will do whatever it takes to stay together

Shane McDonald is working at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant when a solar storm wipes out the grid. He's desperate to reach his family, but they're hundreds of miles away, and the world is falling apart around him. Jodi McDonald gathers her brother and son and heads for her prepper mother's house in rural Georgia. There, the family braces for the coming nightmare. Great series and works well combined

It was a pleasure to read this book and I like it when the whole series is together - makes binging so easy. The first book is really about set up and I got confused earlier on but then everything settled down and you worked how everyone fitted in. There were books that concentrated on peril and a little violence and then others that explored the emotions. One of the reasons that this author is one of my favourites is she is not shy of being honest rather than concentrating on violence etc. It works so well, and I just escaped into the world. Main characters are not safe so just a warning.
