Stone Vows

Yet again a great reading performance from Jason and Erin.

I’ve read the book several time’s, so to hear it brought to life this way was amazing, they both certainly did it justice.

The final book in the Stone Brothers series is another tough one, domestic abuse being the subject.

Samantha yet again brings this all together In a fantastic rollercoaster of a story.

A SLOOOOOOOW BUILD TO AWESOME

I’ll miss these sweet caring Stone brothers (and their significant others) as this very enjoyable series comes to an end.. but they’ve left me with happy memories of how they each struggled to get their HEA ending. And Kyle must of mentally struggled the most because, as a Doctor (a second yr Resident) ethics overruled what his heart and body already knew.. that Elizabeth, his mysterious pregnant patient, was his. But it wasn’t just one-sided because Elizabeth felt their chemistry too, their connection and their wealth of similarities.. however she had secrets.. BIG secrets and, no-matter how close they became, her past ruled and ruined her future and all that was left was a woman hoping for the impossible.

This book was told in two parts.. the first from Kyle’s POV and the second from Elizabeth’s - it was a very sloooooow burn before these two were eventually granted the impossible and that was only possible because Elizabeth’s past finally caught up with her. I loved the story however for me there were a couple of BUTs too. There were sex scenes early on BUT they were with his f...buddy and fellow Resident Gina.. I thought there were just too many and each one made my heart sink a little - I would’ve preferred it if they could’ve just been hinted at and referred to as they were the only intimacies until way waaaay into the second part of the book. The slow build was well written BUT was painfully slow and sometimes the budding romance took a backseat while the descriptive ER-building took centre stage and sadly it was heartbreaking too. However, it’s still a solid 4 star listen.. it just took its time to ferment and grow into something truly wonderful.

Worth a credit? Definitely YES and I think that’s because Erin and Jason’s awesome narration brought the one dimensional to life, gave characters heartbeats and conveyed all the necessary feels in a rollercoaster ride.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I really enjoyed this book. So far all of the Stone brothers have stolen my heart. This book was a little different, it almost felt like 2 books in 1. The first part took place almost entirely in the hospital. I loved the way Kyle & Elizabeth got to know each other. They had time to fall in love and I always love that in books. It helps me to fall into the story completely. The second 1/2 of the book, outside the hospital was good but it felt a little rushed and a little predictable. That didn't change that I loved it and Kyle & Alexa's story!!

Again the narration is amazing!!! Erin Mallon & Jason Clarke are both rock stars!

Nauseating

I’m usually pretty upbeat and try not to say bad things about a book, but this is awful. The characters are super immoral. A resident falling in love w a homeless pregnant patient and then performs her csec and still participated as her physician is beyond gross, controlling and possessive in a terrible way. I only listened to as far as I could because I love Jason clarks performance and voice. He can make anything good. The entire second half of the book is narrated by Erin, it’s awful. Erin is breathy, high pitched and unbearable. The female character is disgusting and weak. She uses and abuses everyone around her and still ends up with it all. This book portrays a terrible message to any young female. Stay away from this book.

Dr. Stone is just what the doctor ordered!

I loved all three Stone brothers. I fell hard for Dr. Stone. It isn't too often that there is a swoony hero that comes from money and has a heart bigger than his bank account. He may be a bit cocky, but is a big softy underneath. Kyle is a second year resident who has a good thing going with Gina, a fellow resident...friends with benefits, neither of them looking for more. And then Kyle meets Elizabeth. A very pregnant, very mysterious girl down on her luck. This isn't a fast HEA book. This book has substance. It's a bit of a slow burn. Kyle realizes friends with benefits isn't what he wants and friends to lovers comes home with the WIN! Beautifully narrated by Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke!

Almost perfection..

Standing ovation to Samantha Christy for yet another great book and series. This book was the exclamation point for me! Erin Mallon was great as always, but Jason Clarke I lack a word a word for. Stupendous? I thought it was very best work. The entire way through the hospital and/ot Kyle's part of the book...I was glued to my earbuds. Extremely well written. I could visualize everything. I do feel it was a tiny bit anti-climactic, but maybe it's because I just didn't want it to end. 5 Stars!

Great performance!

This was a very unique story. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this story or relate to the love story between a patient and doctor considering I am a nurse. But I was able to put aside those feelings and enjoy the story for what it is. Kyle meets Elizabeth when she is a patient at the hospital and then later becomes her own personal doctor when she is forced to stay in the hospital until she delivers. For a lot of the first part of the book, Kyle is in a sexual relationship with OW, something that I know a bunch of readers are not going to like. Even while having sex with OW, Kyle is creating an emotional bond with Elizabeth. Eventually it becomes so strong that he has to break things off with her. After Elizabeth delivers her child, she runs away. She is still holding a lot of secrets from her past that she doesn’t want anyone to know. When she comes back, Kyle has been able to put together most of her story. Elizabeth wants to start a relationship with Kyle, but he was too hurt with her leaving before to give her another chance. Kyle and Elizabeth’s relationship was special because they really got to know each other before anything happened between them. I loved the narration between Jason and Erin. wonderfully done!

Absolutely perfect

Samantha Christy built up the need for these two characters to be together so perfectly it hurt lol. The Stone Brothers series is fantastic. Kyle's character, a true to heart doctor in his late twenties, really harnesses the feeling of newness to reaching your career goals and the unexpected growth of feelings for someone that sweep you off of your feet, especially at that age. It made me miss my twenties, it was like falling in love for the first time again and not giving a damn about repercussions. Elizabeth (not going to spoil) is well constructed, I couldn't see her character evolving the way that she did at the end of part one. Enjoy the hospital setting and the sneaking of innocent happy moments. There's a lot of emotional yoyos that make it hard to stop listening.
That being said, the narrators are amazing as always. I love Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke together, I binge their narrations. I think they really nailed their characters personalities and the pacing was fantastic. The emotion throughout will keep me binging their work as well as the author's. Thanks for a great listening experience. ❤

Surprise

This book gave me ups and downs. I thought narration was great but some parts of the story didn’t hit home for me
