Summary

With each victim, the killer leaves a calling card: a stone figurine carved like the spirit stones found among the native tribes of Papua New Guinea—the same tribes Prusik worked with a decade earlier while doing field research. The personal nature of the similarity is eerie and, frankly, terrifying; Prusik still carries trauma from her time in the field.
As the dark details continue to surface, Prusik has to wonder if the connection is real or if her nightmares have finally wormed their way into her waking life.

A great Crime Thriller!
This is a great crime story that I really enjoyed! I loved the psychological insight and the unusual nature of the murders. The developing relationship of the main character, Christine, with the Sheriff adds a little light relief from the investigation and ongoing murders.
A very well balanced and well thought out story, with a good pace, that keeps you gripped.
The narration was good, professional, well-paced. However the narrator did not use pitch, tone, and inflection to reflect the different characters, so at times, it was difficult to identify which character was speaking at the time.
Overall, a solid 4 stars. I will definitely read more in the series.

The narration was awful
The narrator very nearly made this a did not finish book for me. Absolutely awful!
The story was really good and I'm glad I continued. Only gripe, the story characters were hard to follow so would have been good to start the chapter with who's perspective you were viewing but all in all if you can get past the narrator it's a great storyline.

Saw the story about the struggles to get this published, WHY!
This was excellent, a very different and well thought out plot. i enjoyed every minute, write more please

Great find

really enjoyed this book, it was a bit confusing at times to keep track of who was who, but nothing a little rewind to listen back didn't fix.
recommend.

Very good story. Tolerable narration.
I enjoyed the book and it kept me interested all the way through. The voice acting wasn't great, but the story made it tolerable. Would make a good film as well.

A very far fetched but fun book
I bought this book after seeing a viral video that the author's daughter made saying he had spent 14 years writing it. I genuinely enjoyed it. The story is a bit out there,but it was well written and the characters are very likable

A hidden gem
I really enjoyed this book, how the story is laid out, how the characters are built up, the suspense and the outcome. I also liked the narration which I think added to the overall affect of the story. I hope the author writes more!

Amazing
I was so hooked on this book I was living life with one headphone in wherever I went! A great plot line and all the better for knowing the book’s origin. Bravo!
