Summary

Kristen Hall grew up a human - but she's not. She's a dragon.

And dragonkind will never be the same.

She's achieved some mastery over her powers and even defeated an enemy dragon.

But nothing she has done has prepared her for what's coming next. Kristen has been invited to join Dragon SWAT - a force of dragons which serves to keep order among their species. But not every dragon is happy with the status quo; some see humanity as a threat which should be eliminated. They're not alone. A growing number of humans feel the same about the dragons.

Forces are moving in the world to bring both races into a final conflict. The prize? Survival of their species and control of the Earth.

Powerful humans and dragons are playing chess with the future of the world. But Kristen was a piece none of these beings anticipated. She could swing the balance of power in either direction.

The Steel Dragon has plans of her own, though. Armed with the sense of honor instilled in her by her human parents, she's going to have to dig to the bottom of the mysteries at play if she hopes to have even the smallest chance of averting a catastrophic war!

Enjoyable listen

Kristen is coming into her powers more and she's joined Dragon SWAT but is dismayed to find out she has to work in the records department for a while (up to 5 years) before she can join in on the action, but Kristen being Kristen, she's having none of that.

There's not one, but 2 baddies after her this time and there's plenty of action throughout the book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, although Kristen is sometimes a whiny brat (a lot less than she was in the first book) she's starting to rely on others to help her rather than doing everything herself in an attempt to 'save' her friends, and think things through before jumping into the fire. She still has some growing up to do.

GAG WORTHY, A WASTE OF $$$ & TIME

I would say this book is laughably inept if it were not SO BAD!!! Anderle and McLaughlin are PUH-THET-TIC wanna be authors!!! If you are SWAT, Marine Corps, or Former Marine or LEO, do not read any book in this series!! It is freekin embarrassing! ZERO PROFESSIONAL OPERATORS, and ANY member of, or small unit combat team would NEVER work with a team member like this main character. Secondly, no team on this planet would go to the field with a team member that acts like a highschool varsity quarterback! When Command forced someone like that on my Squad, we ensured they had a training accident that prevented them from be assigned to our missions! And they tactics used by the teams in this series is just so unrealistic and ignorant that for the authors to use them in any scenario, even magical, fantasy scenarios, is unbelievable that common sense didnt slap them upside the head and say, “Hey, you are an idiot! Do not write that!” I can not stomach any more of this trash!

Really wanted to like this story. But I couldn't

I never want to do anything to stop people from earning a living, but the author(s) who wrote this don't deserve your money, and here is why!

In book one, the 'Steel Dragon' gets hit by cars and large caliber bullets, and is massively athletic. In book two, all that is 'conveniently' flip when she faces off with the main antagonist Constance (Spoiler*Possibly her long-lost mother.)

Somehow getting hit by flesh punches and wood-planks, wooden spoons, regular spoons, dish plates all while in a steel body is enough to cripple the 'steel dragon and prevent her from capturing her target. Worse still, she loses a foot chase to a target slower than herself, by tripping on thin air and or her own feet, slipping in snow, bumbling into hedges, and whatever cartoon nonsense the authors could think of, to make sure the villain gets away, even though she should've been captured in the first confrontation. Sorry, but this has got to be the most contrived BULL5HIT I've ever read. How do you go from walking off 50 cal and RPG rounds to the chest and face, to being held up, stalled, and beaten up by a human throwing teaspoons, dinner plates, and fist to the point of being completely overwhelmed and unable to move forward? How??? Did the people who wrote the first book NOT write the second???? Can you imagine supermans or batman's weakness being a bleeping TEA SET, a honest to god TEA SET??? Can you????

To hell w/ this nonsense.

Sorry, but my journey ends here, and since this series is about 15 books long (14 books longer than it needs to be) I humbly PRAY, you don't start. AT ALL!!!

These frauds don't deserve your hard-earned money or 17hrs of your life per book with their contrived BULL5hIT!
