About this listen
The third part of the laugh-out-loud sci-fi adventure series, from the author critics are calling "the new Douglas Adams."
Cal Carver, petty-criminal turned space adventurer, is on a suicide mission - and he really hates suicide missions. But this time it's to save his best buddy, Splurt, who has been taken prisoner by the elderly assassin, Lady Vajazzle, and the evil Zertex corporation.
When they discover that the ship carrying Splurt never made it to Zertex, their search leads them through a wormhole to a mysterious planet unlike any they have seen before. Will they survive this strange new world and finally find their friend? And, more importantly, does he even want to be found?
Packed with gladiator battles, angry bees, a big thing blowing up, and the return of the galaxy's oldest assassin, Space Team: The Search for Splurt, is the rip-roaring conclusion to the first Space Team trilogy.

BEST SPACE SERIES EVER
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely and I do! Funniest space adventure I have come across! Great story, great characters
What did you like best about this story?
What I love about Space Team is that each book is better than the last, where normally books tend to have a diminishing return factor. Other books tend to repeat themselves alot, having there heroes going over the same thing in slightly different ways but the Space Team books feel fresh each time, with brand new different experiences for the characters in each one.
What does Phil Thron bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I really want to read the next books that are already on Amazon as ebooks BUT Phil Thron does such an amazing job at narrating these books that I will have to wait for the next audible release.......damnit!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yep
Any additional comments?
If you like sci fi and comedy, you wont find a better series

If guardians of the galaxy we’re less competent
The title of the review sums it up. You’ve got a crew of misfits who bumble around the galaxy trying to stay one step ahead of trouble and still somehow falling deep into it.
They’re a ruder, cruder and less competent band of reluctant heroes and yet that makes them incredibly endearing.

Great fun story
An enjoyable addition to the story, with Cal and Co attempting to overcome some familiar enemies and some new ones to get splurt back. The creation of a predatory planet where everything wants to kill you or eat you helps to maintain the sense of threat and relentless danger for our heroes, and some of the messages around working together to overcome the real enemy are well done and avoid getting too cheesy. But the whole story is very nearly derailed by the narrator's inability to do even a spurious Aussie accent. When a story line needs to provide cover for a narrator's difficulty with an accent, by describing a character as "nearly having" an Aussie accent, my advice to the author or the performer would be to step away from the accent or change it to one that the narrator can do. Apart from this minor, but for pretty grating issue, this was a great story and another terrific "space" adventure.

This series is really good. The characters are great, and it's funny. I love the look my wife gives me when she catches snippets of what I'm chuckling to😂

Australian accent was a bit dodgy, slightly South African :). Another well written and well read book.
