Summary
She wasn’t a white dress type of girl....
Hellen Moynihan didn’t have dreams. She had goals. She knew who she was and what she wanted. She also knew what she didn’t. So when her long-term boyfriend didn’t make the grade, she moved on. And when her best friend’s boyfriend showed signs of being a scam artist, Hellen was on the case.
He wasn’t a white hat type of guy....
Dustin “Hardcore” Cutler didn’t have dreams or goals. A troubled past led Core to do something irredeemable. The only thing he and the men of the Resurrection MC could do was vow to live their lives making up for an unforgivable act.
And they did.
This duty leads Core to being a part of a covert protection detail, looking after Hellen Moynihan when trouble is coming to town.
At first, Core finds this dynamo of a woman intriguing, but he’s decided she’s off-limits.
Then Hellen and her friend wade into a multi-state swindling scheme.
Suddenly, off-limits for Core is out the window.
He’s got no choice but to get up close and personal.

Awful
I’ve read all of KA books and loved most of them. Could not finish past chapter 4.
Too much time is spent on inconsequential and boring details. Getting a refund

Fabulous story
Once again Ms Ashley delivers another fabulous story in this new but ongoing series. Loved Hellen and Core together. Catching up with old favourites whilst reading was awesome. This story had a lot of drama, intrigue and love plus heartache. Can’t wait to read and listen to the next book now.

Beautiful written
As always I love Kristen Ashley writing style
The only reason I don’t give 5 stars to this book is because there wasn’t enough romance for me
I read romance books. This was something else… there is a good plot, it was very interesting but again, not enough romance
The heroine was great and although she is 23 or 24, she felt more like a early thirties kinda of gal (except when she was being reckless with her besties)
The book felt very heavy and I just never got a relief… the prologue was good but by then I lost interest
Guys KA is a great writer, and I’m sure many people will love this book, if you are reading this…. Give this book a chance. It’s just a shame it wasn’t for me

Ugh!
Feminist or Alpha males, you have to pick one... Her writing has taken a nose dive over the last few years, ever since the Dream Team book where she bashed a political party, but with no connection to the story, just random word vomit, This was another total waste of time, people read to escape the world around them, not have crap shoved down Their gullet! DONE!!!

I love K. A. Books I’ve listened to all of them but ….
I love her books I own most of them, I’m very disappointed with this one I liked the first book even though it was a lot like motorcycle man! There was a lot of repetitive thinking and rants in this one. I mean it would have been better if the main female character was gay because it seemed like she didn’t even like men and I like the alpha men in K. A. earlier series. In these new series these men keep getting less and less alpha it was the same with the dream series not really alpha men the only good book in those four books was the first one.
I get so excited for her books when they come out but lately I’ve had a hard time finishing the new books. Sorry K. A. Love you and love all of the old series but this new stuff is really hard to finish.

I miss the old KA.
The performers do awful secondary character voices. They made the sister sound like she's some idiot surfer.

Disappointing
The narrators did a good job.
There were so many contradictions and double standards, as well as too much internal monologue in the story for me.

KA super fan but…
I get it. Things change, evolve and that’s good. However, this was almost all agenda. Not a fan of the narration. Felt mechanical and a bit patronizing.

Terrible Narration...
It's not the worst narration, it's just not what Kristen Ashley fans are used to. The voices sound a bit pedestrian. There's no character to them, or edginess like what we're used to with The Rock Chick, Dream Man, Chaos, Dream Team, or FantasyLand series. The story would have been great if the narration matched or was on par with that of the stories this book kept referencing.
Otherwise the story line and plot is what you'd expect from KA. It just wasn't a fun listen because the voices didn't let the characters take on a life of their own like previous ones did. With other narrators slang sounded like slang, sarcasm sounded like sarcasm, and each individual character had their own flavor. Not the case with these guys. It all sounded the same unfortunately.

Ok…
This book was an ok listen. I didn’t love it or hate it. I did however feel like it drug on with no action at all.
I am used to a certain form of
Kristen Ashley writing and this didn’t hit the mark. I’m an avid fan so I’ll continue with this series but I have not fallen in love yet.

Not sure what to say honestly
I enjoy Ashley’s books, characters, and steamy love scenes. This one hit different. It’s disappointing bc I had been waiting for this book. Sometimes I liked the main characters and sometimes I didn’t care what was happening with them and wanted to just stop listening. It was oddly preachy in places- like spend a sentence and move on. Honestly, I just rolled my eyes too many times. Weird. I finished the book, and for the first time I can remember, I’m actually not going to recommend it.
