About this listen
“My friends just pretend to like me.”
“I toss and turn all night worrying about what I’m gonna say. I even worry about worrying.”
“I always feel so lonely, even when I’m around people. Especially when I’m around people.”
“There’s nothing about me that deserves love.”
Insecurity is a deadly threat. It eats away at you and turns every social engagement into a chance to make a mistake and lose everything. Insecurity runs you down until you’re too exhausted to leave your house, and the joy is sucked from your life.
Psychotherapist Adam Lane Smith lays out a comprehensive plan to help individuals combat the effects of insecurity, attacking this personal anxiety at the root. Armed with a host of new tools and perspectives, seize control of your life and finally slay the monster of destructive insecurity.

Harsh but Fair
Good narration, it's expressive and funny in parts. The levity is a welcome break from the serious nature of the book.
Admittedly listening and applying the concepts and reflecting was difficult but worthwhile.
Challenging and insightful.
Useful for anyone wanting to help themselves and who has an interest in personal growth.
Not for the faint hearted.

It Reached Me.
I suffered my own loss of confidence and doubt, shortly before this book came out. Listening to it made me go over what I'd been through and realise there was a light at the end of the tunnel, I just had to get there.

worth reading
Some useful information and perspective. The chapter on the meaning of life being legacy and everything else is 'masterbation' was a bit of a miss step in an otherwise solid book.

Offensive narrator.
What kind of narrator puts on a whiny childish voice when voicing a woman saying her husband is abusive? I can't get past the awful narration to finish this.
