About this listen

I'm bound to a demon.

For my entire life, I avoided magic at all costs. Now, I'm responsible for a demon who wields magic more powerful than the toughest mage or sorcerer.

Demons are evil.

That's what my textbooks say. That's what I see. He's ruthless, he's temperamental, he's cold. But he protects me without fail. I wonder if he's hiding a heart behind his hostility.

My demon is a monster.

Whether he's heartless or not, my contract with him is illegal and beyond dangerous. Together, we must find a way to return him to his own world before anyone discovers our secret. If that wasn't bad enough, I've come to realize something else: My demon isn't the only monster I should be worried about.

Make sure to check out the companion series, The Guild Codex: Spellbound, available now, and The Guild Codex: Warped, coauthored by Rob Jacobsen.

Slaying Monsters for the Feeble

A great second book in the series, they have fun understanding each other and learning to get on. Read brilliantly by Cris Dukehart.

Absolutely hooked on this series

As a rule, I read books with... adult situations, so when a friend first suggested I give The Night Realm by Annette Marie a chance, I was shocked by how much I loved it. I devoured the Spell Weaver Series, and then went on to listen to everything else of hers I could find on Audible. I'm now faithfully following both the Guild Codex: Demonized series and the The Guild Codex: Spellbound Series, and falling deeper in love with her writing and her characters with every book.

In Slaying Monsters for the Feeble, we get more glimpses into Robin and her demon--or monster--and while they fight vampires, it's fascinating to watch their interactions unfold and their relationship shift. This is a well written, fast-paced UF story, but what keeps me coming back is how *human* the characters are, flaws and all.

a nice continuation

while continuing to explore this worlds arcana and demonica classes this one also starts to show hints at a demon sosiety.

a few laughs, good amount of lore and fast action spices upp an otherwise character focused tale.

only downside I chan think of is that one antagonist falls into the "totally evil" category. but don't fret as this one is in superior company

Demons and a contract.

I love this series, it's dark and a bit violent in places. Zylas is an amazing character, one you will never forget. The world is well written, and the lore in this is described perfectly and is very interesting. Every character is unique and brings something different to the story, the storyline itself is really engaging, full of action and dramatic moments. The slow burn romance has you practically falling out of your seat, Robin is a wonderful main character. She starts off very timid and shy in the first book, and grows over the entire series. I bought both the paperback versions and the ebook of this series, I have read them many times and still can't get enough of them. By far an all time favourite.

Excellent

So good, so so good... I love Robin she is a tiny ball of everything good, she is feisty, brave, kind, and so funny when you pair that with a doesn’t understand emotions, empathy or personal space, Do now think later demon it can only mean good things hehe. No spoilers but I can say the whole book is full of action, full of humour, full of emotion and the story line is so gripping, don’t start on a day you have plans that can’t be changed. AMAZING read and deserves every star.
