Juliette is a threat to The Reestablishment's power. A touch from her can kill - one touch is all it takes. But not only is she a threat, she is potentially the most powerful weapon they could have....

Juliette has never fought for herself before, but when she’s reunited with the one person who ever cared about her, the depth of the emotion and the power within her become explosive.

Fantastic

Both the storyline and the narration is a perfect example of the talent that book narration should be about. I simply cannot find all the tingly, positive words that describe how great this book was and how much I enjoyed it. The narration especially will go on my top narrators list and I am more likely to buy a book from this narrator again. Well done!!

Not the whole story

Argh! Another one of these series who seem to consider Book 1 to just be a jumping off point rather than a complete story - nothing but cliff hangers and unanswered questions 😖. I agree the narrator sounds a little too girlish, but was fairly good otherwise. There’s an odd scratching sound in places throughout (I think it’s meant to be her crossing out things in her journal??) - which doesn’t work for me. Intriguing premise, but I hate feeling cheated for buying a book which which isn’t actually a whole book.

Terrible narrator- More suited to 13-14 year olds

First of the narrator made this nearly impossible to enjoy. I couldn’t finish it.
She sounds so young and makes the main character so pathetic. Unless that was the actual idea I’m not sure.
The story seemed really interesting but horrible narration and the overly flowery language just ruined it for me.
So disappointed as I was really looking forward to reading this series.
Will be noting this Narrators name and avoiding for future.

Meh

The story line is okay. Had very good hopes because I heard good things but didn’t live up to the expectations, over all was ok

Terrible

This is such a popular series. What a disappointment. First the writing; constant weird repetition of words to try and make a point. It’s weird and sounds terrible. The overly flowery language contrasting with the word repetition and the stupid cross out sound effects … it’s like two different books and the juxtaposition is jarring. The narrator is also horrible. She sounds like a toddler. The books MC acts like a child and with the childish narration it makes it even worse. It’s a shame because if written better this world could actually make a decent story. Had to DNF it as it annoyed me so much

What a horrible voice

She is 17 and sounds like a 2 year old it it awful it really takes away from the story. Another thing about this book is there are too many repetitions and random points in the book. I am hoping that in the next book they have changed narrators!
