Summary

I'm structure. She's chaos. I'm practicality. She's spontaneity. I'm off the market. She's Evie’s best friend. Nothing, and I mean nothing, will happen between us.

Jack Cooper’s a devoted single dad, just trying to make it through the morning without burning breakfast.  His life is all about lists and rules and boundaries. (Raising three kids on his own, who can blame him?) Meanwhile, I’m a shameless free spirit looking for signs from the universe.

And Jack? He's a sign. No doubt.

The way his gaze skates across my face, gentle and questioning. The tired circles under his eyes and the hopeful smile quirking his lips. The proud lift of his chin....

Jack's my sign, all right...and he's flippin’ hot. Like total package, scream-his-name-while-biting-a-pillow hot.

But he's sworn off dating. And we're total opposites.

The last thing I want is to further complicate his life.

So what if I melt a little every time he smiles? Who cares if I have a thing for dark hair and blue eyes that caress my body when he looks at me?

All right, so I can’t stop fantasizing about the guy and completely adore his kids. It's not like that should stop me from trying to help the guy out...

...right?

Loved this story so much.

Both male and female have issues they are dealing with but learn that together they can overcome them and be happy. Thought Connor Crais and Stella Hunter did an admiral job of narrating this book there voices go together. Loved the duet narrative.

Great Single dad story

My 2nd listen by Abby Brooks. Jack is a single dad to 3 young kids. The loss of his wife was rough on his family. He meets Amelia and things start to change. Great story about love after loss! Excellent narration by Connor Crais & Stella Hunter.

Amelia and Jack!

After his wife passed away Jack has been focused on putting the needs of his three children first and his became a very distant second. He hasn’t even thought about letting another woman into their lives until Amelia comes in like a whirlwind and shows him what they have been missing.

Amelia has recently moved to town to open her own business and her spirited and animated personality brings energy wherever she goes. Although there are some challenges to overcome, she is exactly who Jack and his children need in their lives.

Amelia and Jack take us on an emotional and touching journey as they fight for the happiness they both deserve. This is a story about new beginnings, overcoming the past and finding love where you least expect it. The performance of the narrators draw you in and have you feeling what they feel which only makes the story that much more compelling.

Love Abby Brooks!

I have fallen in love with Abby Brooks! This is my second book I have listened to, and love each one! This one tugged at my heart from the start. Single dad, three kids, woowoo girlfriend, all pulled me in. Jack Cooper has spent the last 18 months dealing with the death of his wife and trying to hold his family together. He needs help and when Amelia comes to town, she may be the exact remedy his family needs. Amelia has had her share of disappointments, and now wants to share her light. But while she is waiting for a storefront, she is taking on the babysitting of Jack's kids. And the fun begins. Food fights, spraying sage, grief, love, and the crazy neighbor lead to an array of emotions you won't expect. I laughed, and smiled, and felt the love and even teared up! If you are looking for a feel good listen, this one is for you!

Stella Hunter and Connor Crais are incredible together. Hunter has a voice that matches Amelia perfectly. Her emotions are spot on, and I love her "woowoo". Plus her kid voices are so realistic, I thought it was a child! Crais has a wam, velvety voice, and his voice as a caring father could not be more real. Love this team, and hope to hear more from them.

Loved this book

Shameless by Abby Brooks
A Wildrose Landing Romance Book 2
Narration by Connor Crais and Stella Hunter

Absolutely loved this book

Wow what a wonderful audiobook. I think I need to get all of Abby’s books now!

I just spent hours throughly enjoying this book. I fell in love with Jack and his kids. Especially Charlie she stole my heart. And I could totally relate with Amelia’s quirkiness and found her abundance of positive vibes that she just exuded out of herself so endearing that I felt so many emotions.

I smiled and giggled when Amelia had the food fight with the kids. I was crushed when Jack made the decision to pull back from Amelia and their relationship, because he wanted to do what only the most loving dad would do. Then my heart swelled when the kids had the meeting with their dad to get Amelia back. Swoon!

The narration was superb. Connor has just the emotions that really held my heart for Jack all the way through this performance. Stella was also stellar doing the kids and as Amelia. I so enjoyed this single dad story, and the professional narration was what made it so wonderful.

An Enthralling & Heartfelt Delight! Fabulous🎧📚🎧

This is a wonderfully delightful small town single dad opposites attract romance novel, the story grabbed both my attention and heartstrings captivating both for the entire book. Abby Brooks is a gifted author, I enjoyed her writing style, the story she created is interesting and original and the characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I adored the two lead characters, Jack Cooper and Amanda Brown, the secondary character are pretty amazing too, including Jack’s three children Charlie, Connor and Garrett. Jack has his hands full, working and raising his kids on his own, it has not been the easiest of times for him, dealing with the lose of his wife and the children missing their mom and acting out at times. Amelia is new to Wildrose Landing, she plans on opening a business and planting roots in the town. Jack was in town with the kids when they first met Amelia, I loved that scene and Amelia’s bit chin warrior” shirt. Amelia made a good impression on the kids which in turn impressed Jack. With mutual friends in common they soon meet again, Amelia could see that Jack and the kids are still struggling so she figured she’d bring them some trinkets and essential oils that will help calm and destress them. Amelia is big on aromatherapy, it is the type of shop she plans on opening. I loved how she clicked with the kids, how they were drawn to her, also loved the chemistry she and Jack shared, he was skeptical at first but he finally allowed himself to go there. Everything was going great until it wasn’t and Jack had to make a decide how she should handle the situation and of course the strong independent man does not ask for help. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted with drama, some charming humor, a touch of angst, lots of heartfelt emotions and a wonderful romance. Abby Brooks, that you for this amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride, I loved every minute of it.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Connor Crais and Stella Hunter are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Stella Hunter aced Amelia’s role, as well as the kids, Connor Crais did the same for Jack, playing that role with perfection. Both were equally great with the secondary characters. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are mega talented and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Just enough drama to make the HEA more beautiful

It was cute, but not devoid of deeper emotions.

I totally dig the whole family setting, with the nice but disturbed children and their devoted father whom they’re driving crazy–as well as a dozen babysitters–suddenly falling in like with the weirdo nanny. That made for fun scenes, but also a lot of domestic cuteness. And it brought more tensed moments when everything turned sour.

There were a lot of interaction with other characters too. Though the story was clearly focused on Amelia and Jack–and the kids–we see a lot of Jack with his friends, as well as Amelia with friends and not-so-friends. We get a feel of the small town where everyone stick their nose in everyone’s business, and of how judgemental people can do a lot of bad.

The couple was both cute and sexy, though, as they admit themselves, their relationship progresses really fast. Too fast. They let their own insecurities and past tragedies ruin it, and the confrontation was heartbreaking. The grand gesture though? And the epilogue? Totally worth the pain you’ll feel before.

The narrators were perfect for the characters and the atmosphere of the whole story, even better in duet. You hear the smile in their voices when they’re happy, and the tension in the sadder moments. A good book, with just enough drama to make the happily ever after more beautiful.
