About this listen

We all have our secrets. It’s just some are bigger than others…

Joe has a beautiful house, a great job, no commitments – and he likes it like that. All he needs is a quiet house-sitter for his rambling old place by the sea. When Tess turns up on his doorstep, he’s not sure she’s right for the job. Where has she come from in such a hurry? Her past is a blank and she’s something of an enigma.

But there’s something about her – even though sparks fly every time they meet. And it looks as though she’s here to stay…

Not a good end as I could not listen to the end

Not one of my favourite authors however I choose this title as one of my ‘chill out’ & ‘get to sleep’ books for over the Christmas period as I liked the narrators voice, however although the story went along at a predicable pace for the most part - towards the end there was macabre twist which completely ruined the listening experience for me & I didn’t even listen to the end as I didn’t want to hear more of ‘what happened’.

I actually had to re-listen to one of my favourite downloads to try to take my mind of this story.

For me, this download was a waste of money.

Loved it - I listened to it all in one sitting!

***Please note the unabridged version is now available too, it wasn't at the time of my purchase when I bought the abridged version***

This is the first time I have listened (or even read) anything by Freya North and I must say I was amazed. She is a fantastic writer and does so very well. Its all so real, it's as if its really happening and your being taken along for the ride :). It's so addictive you can't stop listening, so much so I stayed awake all night just to listen to it till the end.

I highly recommend this audio book, I promise you will love it. It's now my favourite audio book and I've already listened to it several times since I bought it.

Before listening to this audio book I used to listen to Cecelia Ahern, Jane Green etc. I now have another new favourite author and that is Freya North. If this book is anything to go by I'll love all the other ones she does!

I really loved this book, the relationships were so real and true and it made my heart beat. The way she writes is fantastic, so very real and there is one scene where she has written so well you'll feel everything they do in that moment - your heart will start to beat and you'll yurn for it too.

Its a great book, its about a lovely girl who comes down to housesit with her young daughter and the guy she house sits for is also a lovely guy and he has a dog. Its such a beautiful story, I loved it all - the tales about her, her daughter, the dog and the guy she house sits for.

I couldn't recommend it more highly, go on girls give it ago and I can even see my husband liking it or at least being happy to listen along too.

My now favourite audio book which I listen to a lot, I love this book so much I am about to purchase the unabridged version so I can enjoy the whole book. I just love this book and it will always be a firm favourite!

Fabulous Book

Great Book, especially if you know Saltburn!
Endearing characters that make you feel you are actually part of their lives. You actually feel you know them and are part of their world.
You wont be disappointed

No good ending

It seems like there could be so much more l. The abrupt end just ruined it for me.

Over indulgent and smushy.

I was determined to listen to this to the end, it wasn't easy. Not helped by the fact that the narrator sounded like a 9 year old girl.
This is not Freya North's finest work.
