About this listen

Bennett Sharp is on the run. Wanted for piracy, she fears neither God nor death nor man. Except Priest Farrell.

The unfaithful, stormy-eyed libertine hunts her with terrifying possessiveness. Nothing will stop him from coming for her. Not his unforgivable betrayal. Not when she’s captured by the ice-cold pirate hunter Lord Ashley Cutler.

She must escape Ashley’s prison and Priest’s deceit. But can she walk away from their twisted desires?

Two gorgeous captains stand on opposite sides of the law. When they collide in a battle to protect her, the lines blur between enemies and lovers.

Passion heats, secrets unravel, and hearts entangle until they break.

Can love prevail in the sea of ruin?

Brilliant!

It’s dark, dirty, and action packed with sexy pirates, mystery treasure, and treacherous seas. I loved the characters, especially Bennett, she’s amazing, as is the storyline. Historical romance isn’t my usual go to but Pam Godwin is so of course I had to read it; and I’m so happy that I did. I highly recommend it.

My first pirate adventure

This was certainly out of my usual genre and I've got to say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

IMO the 'outcome' was fairly predictable but no less enjoyable for it.

I'd certainly recommend to others!

dark and brutal romance

4,5🌟 I loved it and couldn't put it down, but read the trigger warnings before you dive in as it's dark and our heroine goes through A LOT, it's dark and melancholy often ( includes the grape and abuse and assault). There is also the love triangle, a ton of angst, tons of tension and lots of spice.
We start to follow Bennet's ordeal when she is only 14 and, after she goes through several brutally traumatic experiences that change her life. We meet her 7 years later when a bunch of brutally traumatic events have a major impact on her life. The story isn't for the faint hearted, so brace yourself.
The audio book would have been better if a duet, but it was greatly done anyway. Roxy Isles interprets the 💩 out of this, and there were times I felt the pain and despair. I got confess I dont like her voice (her male voice was actually better than her actual voice 😬) but the way she narrated it had so much emotion that I couldn't give anything other than 5 stars.

Loved it!!

Loved it! It just got better and better. I’ve hardly watched any tv since I started listening In favour of delving back into the story. I finished it within days. Loved the descriptions of everything/being out at sea. I love anything to do with the sea and it was nice to listen to before sleep. Incredible narrater! Filthy in parts. Best book I’ve listened to in ages, and really different too. You just didn’t know where it was heading. Brilliant!

Amazing

I’ve read the book, which I absolutely loved, but this listen was even better! The narrator was great at the different accents - Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English - and she played both MMC soooo welllll!!! Would defo recommend listening!

Made me breathless 💨

Marine erotica - that what was missing in my life. Apparently.
Plot full of my favorite pirate tropes like sea battles, hidden treasure, map to mentioned treasure, clever pirate deals, and more, combined with suspense of romantic entanglements kept me on the edge of my seat through almost entirety of this book.

Just one moment made me laugh out loud in disbelief, when one woman's orgasm become main point of attention of few hundred men. After that I really thought we will meet sirens at some points. What an imagination 😂

Ooo my days

Please listen to this book! Gosh it is an emotional rollercoaster! You’ll laughing one minute and crying the next. The main character is strong and powerful but she still has her downfalls so she is a realist character that you cheer for. Please be warned that there are sensitive topics in this book so if you’re triggered then this book isn’t for you.

never mind sea of ruin, think I've been ruied

ruied for all other pirate romances that is! this is my first pirate romance and I'm not sure any others are going to live up to this one. yes I figured out the plot twist early on but that in no way detracted from the book. if you're used to dark romances and not offended by TW then its best to go in blind like I did. the resilience of the female character is astounding. i thoroughly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.
Roxy Isles gives a truly fantastic performance, putting every ounce of feeling into each character and making them sound as individual as they where.
