Summary

Please note: This content is for mature audiences, this audio adaptation contains explicit language and graphic violence, as well as strong sexual content and themes. Discretion is advised.

Kerry Lynne and By the Board Publishing LLC presents Pirate Captain Chronicles of a Legend audio drama (mature audience). The production is one-of-a-kind full cast audio theatre drama produced by Neil Rosser of Spools Out Productions, UK.

Pirate Captain Chronicles of a Legend the audio is an unabridged adaptation of the first book in The Pirate Captain Chronicles of a Legend book series, it is not a story for the kids, nor the weak of heart, it is a violent and deadly world with enemies scheming to take the Pirate Captain's treasure.

It's 1753, the golden age of piracy is dead along with its famous Pirate Captains, still pirates are sailing the seas and Pirate Captain Nathanael Blackthorne is "out there" doing what he does best captaining, the Ciara Morganse, seeking revenge, when Providence dumps a treasure on his deck, Cate Mackenzie, a Jacobite War criminal. It's a story of people, scared of both spirit and flesh, coming to grips with that ol' demon, Trust. It's the story of what a man will do to preserve his most treasured. It's the story of what a woman will risk to gain what she desires most.

Kerry Lynne's The Pirate Captain Chronicles of a Legend book series is riveting storytelling that demands a unique audio drama to bring Lynne's characters to life. Director, Neil Rosser has mixed an original musical score by Michael Vickerage with sound effects and an all-star cast of Rosalyn Landor (Narrator), Sam Hazeldine, Eleanor Tomlinson, Graham McTavish, Tom Mison and many supporting actors creating an exceptional production that fans refer to as an audio movie. Brilliant Story!

Have been glued to this since I started it. Perfect balance of audio play and audiobook for me. Sometimes the dramatised versions get the production wrong with too many sound effects drowning out the performance. I think they’ve done a brilliant job with this one. Thoroughly enjoyed the characters and performances, the actors really bring them to life. More of the same please!!

Fab writing! Fab production!

I absolutely loved this. The writing is competent. The production itself brought the story and the characters alive. I really didn't see that end coming and now I've finished, I'm eager for more...

Fantastic but….

…..is there more? I was enthralled. It’s an engaging story, you feel invested. But it ends so abruptly and made no sense. I hope there is a follow up if for no other reason than to explain the ending! It came out of left field and I was dissatisfied when i realised that was it. Explain! How did that happen. I feel I missed something so am going to listen again to hear if the ending gets explained at the beginning.
Anyone know?
The performances were fantastic though! Well done to all involved.

Gripping

The production of this audiobook is outstanding. The excellent balance of narration, dialogue, music and sound effects immediately immersed me in the world of pirates, while the story is so gripping that even after 20 hours of listening, I was left wanting more.
I hope they will record the other books in the series so I can continue to enjoy the adventures of Nathaniel Blackthorne brought to life by the amazing Sam Hazeldine.

OVERRATED

I enjoy Historical Fiction Adventures and found this had a page on FB, so joined to find out about it before using a credit.
Couldn’t even make it to the end of chapter 2, with annoying narration, the occasional actor’s voice chirping in, background music and not the best storyline.
The narrators voice is too cut glass with little to no emphasis, just a constant drone. Personally I would have thought a Cornish, Devon or even Bristol drawl would have been better
