Summary

A reckless princess. An enemy kingdom. And a mistake that could cost her everything.

Princess Rowan thought she knew her place in the world.

She never expected to feel like an outsider.

She certainly never imagined she would fall in love, least of all with a man from a barbarian kingdom half a world away.

But when series of missteps lands her in the hands of the people she was brought up to hate, she is forced to reconsider everything she thought she knew about both lands.

And about herself.

After a lifetime of animosity between the kingdoms, will the Socairans ever accept her as one of their own?

Or will her mistakes push her people into yet another war?

This enthralling story from the Lochlann Realm takes place after The Lochlann Treaty, but can be devoured and enjoyed all on its own.

Review by The Disney Bookworm

I loved Olivia's performance. At first I didn't think Rowan would be so well spoken, but then, she is a princess after all!

After my initial hesitation I now can't imagine Rowan with any other voice, Olivia perfectly captured her sarcasm and dry humour. I laughed out loud several times.

It's also worth noting that Olivia is so good at accents, she really brings Theo and Evander to life.

I have read the whole series in print but can't wait to listen to them all too. Thank you to Elle and Robin for a free copy of this audiobook 💜

Absolutely Amazing!!

Guuuyyyssss! I have so many feelings! This was 👏 just 👏 fantastic 👏 It's a clean YA fantasy read.
Rowan is a sassy little thing, who gets herself into a lot of trouble. 😂
Theo is so swoon-worthy *sigh* Nothing sexier than a tough yet romantic man who fights for his woman! 💪
Their chemistry is 🤌🏼 *chefs kiss*
SUCH a great story. Laugh out loud moments. Happy tears. Sad tears. Some action. An enemy kingdom. Mind blowing twists. Loads of fun! And ... a cliffhanger in true ElBin fashion. 😆 These Ladies are fantastic story tellers. Very much looking forward to the next installment.
If you enjoyed The Lochlann Treaty you'll absolutely love this, and vice versa.

The narrator is fantastic!! Does incredible accents and I just love her so much!!

📚 Some Quotes
“I thought we could do something fun, but it would appear you are already enjoying yourself too much.”
“Fun? I wasn’t aware that Socairans knew the meaning of the word,” I responded dryly.
“It might not be as enjoyable as annoying me or smuggling vodka, but then again, what is?”
.
Still, I loved my parents together, but I didn’t want the kind of love you went to war for. I didn’t want the kind of love that could break you.
.
"You are like no woman I have ever met."

Love this Series

I don't normally leave reviews, but I loved this series. The writing is captivating and keeps everything moving forward at a great pace. I love the humor that is found throughout, but also the MC's fire.

I first found this series on Kindle Unlimited. I fell in love with it and devoured it in 2 days. I have now purchased the books and the first 2 available on Audible. I hope the last 2 get released on audio soon.

This series!

I absolutely loved returning to the Lochlann world with the second generation. Rowan is literally the best! And manages to find herself in quite the predicaments. Olivia did a great job bringing Rowan, Davin, and the rest to life. I always adore Elbin's characters and worlds, and having Olivia bring them to life made it even more enjoyable! I highly recommend!

These amazing ladies did it again!!

Back into the world of The Lochlann we go. Rowan is a fiery Princess starting of the next generation to this tale where she finds herself stuck in Socair territory and Lord Theodore. Loved both the book and this narration for the story.

OMG so good!

Scarlet Princess was amazing! The authors have done a fantastic job with the characters, the world building, and story line! Rowan and her quick mouth is so relatable, even though she is a princess. I LOVED this book and can’t wait to jump into book 2!

LOVE this story…like it on audible. Ish.

This series is hands down one of my top 5 and I’ve read them all, but I’m not a super fan of this narrated version. I had a hard time with the voices and accents and often times felt the inflection wasn’t there when necessary…more monotone when someone (mostly when Theo or Evander spoke) was excited or angry, though Rowan was typically appropriately excited/angry/etc. I also struggled with the accents as they’re not at all how I read them in my mind based on the descriptions written…personal preference? I’m not sure.

Overall…I gave this 4 out of 5 stars because as I said, I am completely in love with this story and series and even though I wasn’t super excited about the narration, I’d definitely listen to the next book just to know what happens…but for me, in the future, I will not listen to an audible AFTER reading the books; though I would try audible again on a new book.

Fantastic read and even better listen!!!

I recently read the Lochlann Feuds series and fell absolutely in love with it. After reading the ebooks, I couldn't get enough so I got the audiobook for Scarlet Princess so I could listen to it while I drive. The audiobook just enhances the whole experience with the Socair and Lochlann accents plus the PERFECT performance of Rowan's sass! I highly recommend this book and can't wait to listen to the rest of the series!!!

Great Story and Fantastic Narration

I read the ebook version of this book and loved it so much that I wanted to try the audiobook. The narration was just fantastic. Olivia King perfectly performs Rowan’s snark and I loved her accents and voicing for the Socairans. Other narrators that I have heard struggle with different voices especially when switching between male and female voicing but this was very well done. This series is one of my favorites and I thoroughly enjoyed this audio version. I would recommend this for any YA fantasy lovers.

Just wow

After the Lochlann Treaty series I was really happy to return to this world but now I’m hooked with the adventures of Rowan in Socair (thanks for that Elbin)
I read this one before listen to the audiobook and in the first minutes I was having sooooo much fun with this version! I loved how Olivia brings everyone to life and all the different accents are amazing (Rowan imitating Logan lol)
Now I’m looking forward to continue listening the rest of the series!!

“The world loves the strong.”

First, the narrator did an amazing job on this book. The Scarlet Princess storyline captured my attention from the very beginning. It’s filled with brash humor, wit and banter, love interests, and politics. Rowan never wanted the kind of love that would break her or send her into war. Her choices may just lead her in that direction. Along the way she will encounter some great friends and maybe a budding love interest. First she will need to survive calculating lords from warring kingdoms.

To give a reaction is to give away power, so Rowan must stand firm and stay strong.

Wonderful Story, Great Characters, Strong World Building
