OUTSTANDING!

This book had so any wonderful parts covering paranormal, great storyline, strong females and interesting characters. This novel is about Winnie Heywood who was independent, intelligent and kind hearted. She learns she is more than an ordinary woman. There is angst, battles, magic and the strength of family. The book ends indicating more to read in the next book.
This is a new ro me author. Narrator, Breanna Lee brought this story to life. She made the audiobook a pleasure to follow.

Devourable

If you’re a sucker for an ass kicking female lead, magic, and action too — this one’s for you! Sooo good!

Struggled to finish. Writing does not live up to the premise.

The idea of this sounded interesting enough and I heard good things on bookstagram so I gave it a try.
This one’s not for me.
It has to contain some of the most elementary writing I’ve read in a looong time. There is no subtext; it is simply text. A middle schooler could write more interesting sentences.
I hope the author works on honing her craft of writing because she seems to have fun ideas. Those ideas are just poorly executed.

definitely enjoyed

I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to listen to book 2 the narration was done really well however I couldn't tandem read whole thing because there were a few places the narrator changed words from what was written but it was extremely well written

Captured from the start

Do you know how sometimes there’s a little lull in the beginning of a book when you’re learning what’s happening or perhaps in the middle when you’re gearing up for the end… This book doesn’t have that. It had me from the beginning. I was hoping for a bit more spice, but the story was new and fun. I listened in two days!

More highlights than lows

I really liked this story however the huge cast made it hard to follow at points. While the “good guy” characters were well-developed, the villain wasn’t. I wanted a bit more world building but it was interesting.

Loved it

I love how the 2 characters play games with each other and are always competitive. makes it more real and so much fun listening.

Why isn't there more hype about this book!?

This book surprised me. It has one of the sweetest romances I've ever read. The author provides a lot of time for the reader to fall in love with these characters. A ton of this book is spent during the courtship of the MCs and it's really fun to read. Its also multiple POV with a mystery villain who also has a POV but as the reader you don't know which King it is. There was some opportunities towards the end of the book with the plot and how problems got resolved. Some of it felt rushed or not as thought out as I would've liked. But the characters are written extremely well and it does make up for some of this.

this book is full of twists and turns

I'll start off with saying that I'm not the biggest fan of the fantasy genre. normally I get so lost in the world building and the story lines tend to take a while to progress but this book is very well done. I gave this book a chance and I got hooked on the very first chapter. the storyline is captivating and I'm constantly being shocked with the little surprises that just keep coming but in a realistic way. I love that the heroine is strong and a fighter. She is not a damsel in distress but she does have her own vulnerability while not being weak. if you want a book that'll keep you on your toes keep you captivated and show you that a strong woman can still be loving and feminine yet powerful and strong then this is the book for you.

This book is so good! The mystery, friendships, and romance all flows so smoothly 😍 I can’t wait for the second book!
