About this listen

**NOW AN AMAZON PRIME TV SERIES STARRING CHRIS PRATT**

'Carr writes both from the gut and a seemingly infinite reservoir of knowledge in the methods of human combat. Loved it!' Chris Hauty, bestselling author of Deep State

Deep in the wilds of Siberia, a woman is on the run, pursued by a man harboring secrets – a man intent on killing her.

Half a world away, James Reece is recovering from brain surgery in the Montana wilderness, slowly putting his life back together with the help of investigative journalist Katie Buranek and his longtime friend and SEAL teammate Raife Hastings.

Unbeknown to them, the Russian mafia has set their sights on Reece in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

In his most visceral and heart-pounding thriller yet, Jack Carr explores the darkest instincts of humanity through the eyes of a man who has seen both the best and the worst of it.©2020 Jack Carr (P)2020 Simon & Schuster UK

Brilliant as always from Jack Carr

Read brilliantly by Ray Porter. Jack knows what he’s writing, the first hand operator experience flows off the pages like fog over field.
Can’t recommend this series enough. Only issue now is the wait for the next instalment!

Great 3rd act

Like the previous books it’s great. Slow world building start and an energetic frenetic 3rd act. Much enjoyed

Very competent on technical detail

At times a bit pious and worthy inmho, but clearly written by someone who knows their black ops stuff. probably best to listen to the books in order of release.

Very Good but

I found this book a little bit to, detail focused on describing each and every character as long winded as possible and way to much product placement.

And why dose the narrator have to be a man trying to talk like a woman it’s just strange.

A bit heavy on the patriotism,

I really do enjoy this series, and Jack carr can tell a gripping story with obviously a lot of knowledge and personal experience. Even the sections involving aircraft are accurate which is very unusual for books/movies (as a pilot I am pleased to see this).
As a Brit my eyes roll at the cringe comments about ‘freedom & liberties & brotherhood’ etc. Also the redacted sections seem pointless for a fiction?? Anyway still love this series!!!
