Once you get used to the narration this is an enjoyable listen. Allow yourself a few chapters before you check out. The topics incorporate the abuse of women, I wouldn't recommend it if that will be triggering for you.

Good, but be aware of some topics

Absolutely loved this, love Dolly. Its great story and love the narration. A big thumbs up from me.

I wanted a simple listen and something to do with country music. The beginning was rough due to the fact that the narrator indeed sounds like a computer generated voice. However, about an hour in and I'd gotten used to it already so it didn't really bother me for the rest of the listen. But this is something to keep on mind. The story really came to life with all the different voices and I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the audiobook. Lots of twists and turns, but nothing too unexpected. I would recommend for a simple summer listen!

A sweet simple story

i was very curious to listen to a dolly novel and this didn't disappoint. Very much middle of the road easy listening, with simple and uncomplicated plot with great narration.
made my daily commute whistle by as it was something different.

First of all, this isn't my usual genre of reading/listening.
Bought the book for my wife, read the first few pages, got totally hooked so downloaded the audiobook. A real page-turner. couldn't put it down. Twist after turn, surprise after surprise. Sadness mixed with such love. A true masterpiece.

Totally gripping from the first line....

A love story where the good guy saves the damsel in distress. An easy to listen to story, fast paced with a happy ending. Good to play the music album alongside it if you can, but not essential.

A good feel story

James Patterson does it again with this fun one. A great story that keeps you going until the end. The cast are great and it’s brilliant to hear Dolly Parton herself.
