Summary

Gay werewolves in Victorian London? Why yes, yes there are.

Biffy, newly minted Alpha of the London Pack, is not having a good Christmas. His Beta abandoned him, his werewolves object to his curtain choices, and someone keeps leaving babies on his doorstep.

Professor Randolph Lyall returns home to London after 20 years abroad, afraid of what he might find. With his pack in chaos and his Alpha in crisis, it will take all his Beta efficiency to set everything to rights. Perhaps, in the process, he may even determine how to mend his own heart.

New York Times best-selling author Gail Carriger presents a charming love story set in her popular steampunk Parasolverse. Featuring the long-awaited reunion between everyone's favorite quietly capable Beta and the werewolf Alpha dandy who let him slip away.

This sweet romance is full of unexpected babysitting, holiday decorations, and no small amount of pining. Look for surprise appearances from popular side characters and the occasional strategic application of italics.

The Supernatural Society novellas stand alone and may be read in any order. But if you're a stickler, this story chronologically follows Imprudence, and ties specifically to events in Timeless.

Delicate Sensibilities?

Contains men who love other men and have waited decades to do so.

A lovely tale of the Parasol Protectorate universe

Beautifully written, as usual from this author, with the usual lighthearted and amusing style and appealing storyline.

Shame about the pronunciation and inflection problems in the narration but they didn't detract too much from the story.

Such a good choice of reader again

Having already read and loved this novella it is always a worry that the reader of it's audio form will not match that voice you have in your head. However again Ms Carriger has done us proud, Peter Newman is an excellent choice providing clarity and so successfully giving voice to these characters and their emotional depth.
As ever Ms Carriger gives a story full of humour, clever wordplay and her trademark silliness but there is also a delightful sweetness and a real emotional get to this long awaited story of the reunion of two beloved characters.

More Please

I love all the books set in this super natural society world, cannot get enough of them.

I love how we get tantalising glimpses into different aspect of familiar characters in each different book and series.

I really hope Gail Carriger keeps writing and never stops.

A fabulous story, beautifully told

While I read the book of this story previously, listening to the audiobook was an excellent experience. Peter Newman is a fabulous narrator, bringing the story to life and really differentiating between characters. Whilst it's not suitable for everyone due to same sex relationships, I'd definitely recommend it to any fans of the Parasolverse who can accept that in a story, especially as it's so nice to see Biffy get settled as Alpha and Prof. Lyle potentially find love.

A wonderful LGBTQ romance with a dash spice!

Miss Carriger has delivered once more. this is a lovely, easy to read romance of the LGBTQ persuasion set in the Victorian era. The narrator was excellent and was able to affect many different characterisations so you knew the difference between them. I love Miss Gail's books and I cannot recommend them enough!

Another Great Read

Yet another great book from Gail. I love the way the characters intermingle between the books. It's always good to read what happens to some of the peripheral characters that you fall in love with. Thanks again Gail and keep up the good work.
