Summary

Guilty of an indiscretion? Time to marry a werewolf.

New York Times best-selling author Gail Carriger brings you a charming stand-alone story set in her wildly popular Parasolverse. Described as: Georgette Heyer goes to the wolves.

Werewolves

The monsters left Faith ruined in the eyes of society, so now they're her only option. Rejected by her family, Faith crosses the Atlantic, looking for a marriage of convenience and revenge. But things are done differently in London. Werewolves are civilized. At least they pretend to be.

Americans

Backward heathens with no culture, Major Channing has never had time for any of them. But there's something special about Faith. Channing finds himself fighting to prove himself and defend his species. But this werewolf has good reason not to trust human women.

Even if they learn to love, can either of them forgive?

From the best-selling author of the Parasol Protectorate series. Look out for appearances from favorite characters and the serious consequences of unwarranted geology.

A Note on Chronology

The Claw & Courtship novellas can be heard in any order. This book can be enjoyed without having heard any of Gail's other works. Set in the spring of 1896, this story occurs after events chronicled in Romancing the Werewolf.

Great to finally hear Channing's story

Another great book from Gail Carriger. It's good to know the story behind the brooding Major Channing. I loved Faith and also her cousins. Looking forward to the next audio book.

Wonderful

I fully admit that I was one who (on reading the Parasol Protectorate books) wasn't sure if I did like Channing or not. I remember not liking him at all at very first meeting but... like a mould, he grew on me by the end of the series. I loved that he has his story told, and Faith was just the perfect fit.

Great book

Gail is a marvellous writer and this is one of my favourite stories. It’s well read and I now find myself read the book with the narrators voice (in a pleasant way). If I’m doubt, get this book as you won’t regret it

A beautiful tale of romance and found family

This is a wonderful story. The audiobook is very well read, expression spot on, accents excellent (and also understandable). Only a couple of words that seemed to be pronounced oddly to me - but then I’ve no idea how they would have been pronounced in that era!

This audiobook always makes me cry. This is not something I normally desire in any story, but this is just such a beautiful, wonderful, heartwarming tale of romance and found family, that it is worth every tear. Plus werewolves! I strongly recommend it.

You can listen to it several times!

An entertaining story with lots of typical Carriger-humor. What I like best are the lovingly characterized minor characters in all their quirkiness. I've been through the book twice and I liked it the second time as much as the first. Now looking forward to the third walktrough!

Funny and touching

Beautifully and subtly narrated. I particularly liked the American accents.
I enjoyed encountering familiar characters from the earlier novels. The author takes her time telling the story, allowing you to get to know the characters major and minor.
