Summary
In the fourth novel in the New York Times best-selling Tradd Street series, Charleston realtor Melanie Middleton is determined to leave the past behind her. But history has a tendency of catching up with her, whether she likes it or not....
Melanie is only going through the motions of living since refusing Jack Trenholm’s marriage proposal. She misses him desperately, but her broken heart is the least of her problems. Despite an insistence that she can raise their child alone, Melanie is completely unprepared for motherhood, and she struggles to complete renovations on her house on Tradd Street before the baby arrives.
When Melanie is roused one night by the sound of a ghostly infant crying, she chooses to ignore it. She simply does not have the energy to deal with one more crisis. That is, until the remains of a newborn buried in an old christening gown are found hidden in the foundation of her house.
As the hauntings on Tradd Street slowly become more violent, Melanie decides to find out what caused the baby’s untimely death, uncovering the love, loss, and betrayal that color the house’s history - and threaten her claim of ownership. But can she seek Jack’s help without risking her heart? For in revealing the secrets of the past, Melanie also awakens the malevolent presence that has tried to keep the truth hidden for decades....

Finally!!!
All I can say about this is finally!!! But what I don’t understand is why do the listeners have to wait till the 14th of February of this year to hear book 5 when 6 and 7 are available to listen to? This is a really good series.

I’ll be sad when I am done with this series
Love this series and the soft tones of the narrator. I hope I can pick up on Nola’s series when I am done.

It’s good
I enjoyed the story over all but there were parts the kind of ruined it. She spends a weekend with Mark but goes blushing virgin with jack? That part was really bad. The quirks started to slip into Asperger’s. Light read 100% but inconsistent

BORING
If you like listening to a whining woman with no substance this is the book for you. Definitely will help cure insomnia. Character goes on, and on and on about being pregnant, enough already. I would rather have a root canal than ever have to listen to such a boring pathetic book look me this one again. The narrator sounded more like a spoiled 12 year old.

I love this series!!! It was about time Jack & Melly figured “it” out. This series got even more fantastic with the introduction of Sarah & JJ. I might just finish this entire series before Thanksgiving!

Tradd Street Series 1-4
I have loved this series so far. I’ve never yelled at a fictional character as much as I have Melanie, but sometimes it’s nice to have that outlet, and she really is a good person. Because I never knew what she would do next, apart from a certainty that it would make me yell, I felt the need to look at blurbs and reviews before buying each book, to make sure I wasn’t being set up for a serious annoyance. From reviews beyond this title, I gathered one might be forthcoming.
I was very pleased with the way this 4th book ended, and think it’s a great place to end the series. In fact, I wonder if the author may have at first intended to end it here. In any case, I’m not sure I will continue listening beyond this point. However, I highly recommend the first four books. They’re like cozy mysteries with ghosts. There’s drama, humor, etc. —everything I hoped for when I started. I feel confident that if you are considering this series, you won’t be disappointed by the end of this book. Beyond this point, I cannot say.
