Summary
Sloane: Dominic Alexander is my late husband's best friend and the last man that I should want. For the last ten years, he's taken a sick pleasure in making me feel paper thin, like my existence is of no consequence to him at all.
But now, things are different.
After a drunken night, and a surprisingly sexy act of heroism, he's started to be . . . nice. Treating me like something other than the embodiment of his annoyance, which would be nice if it didn't make me feel things I swore to never feel for another man after my husband died.
Dominic: Sloane Kent is going to be my undoing.
What's worse: I think I'm going to enjoy being unraveled by the gold flecks in her hazel eyes and the way she scrunches her nose when we're arguing, which we've done a lot of over the past decade. She thinks it's because I hate her, and I've let her think that because the alternative is . . . untenable.
But something is changing between us, and I don't know how to stop myself from breaking every promise I've ever made to myself regarding my best friend's wife. Promises that include never telling her that there's a long list of things I feel about her, but hate isn't one of them.
Contains mature themes.

wish they used a different female voice actor 😩
This is my favorite book. I’ve read it multiple times because it’s so good but the female voice actor sounds like Siri 😖 The male voice actor was perfect.

Story ok... female narrator not
This is the definition of a slowburn story. It dragged for me, but I'm not sure if it was the female narrator because she was not good. Her voice at times sounded robotic, making it hard to listen to her parts. The male narrator was good.

Beautiful story
I’m usually not a romance reader but this was a great listen. Yes everyone was right about the female voice but I got over it once I got into the story.

Read the book DO NOT listen!
I believe the readers are messing the story up for me. They are reading the words off the pages, but it is not believable. They are not the characters. I’ve made it half way through, but I’m going to read the rest.

Great story horrible narrator
This story was riveting. I just hope they change the narrators. The voices were hard to listen two but the story made it worth it.

Wheewww,,,Ha!
So, this was my first book that introduced me to J.L. Seegars and I am truly glaaaaaaaaaaad about it! I am not okay with the be a lover with the dead spouse butterahhhh to see their history unfold, I was intrigued, to see all the love that was there...baybehhh chemistry and connections do not lie! Point. Blank. Period! Also, BOTH the narrators were fine to me as I enjoyed them both. I want to write so much, but don't want to because I do not want to destroy the story...but I will say, I also didn't like her mother lol. Okay, I'm done.

Love/hate
This was my first time with the author. I enjoyed the storyline! It was hard to get through at times because of the female narrator.

I’m hopeful
This story gave a lot of hope, faith and love. They were meant to be and he was not about to let that go. Those rules had me going, it was obvious that he was not about to give up on getting her back. The only negative about this story was it was kind of long but there was never a time I didn’t enjoy all of it
