Summary
She’s smart. She’s tough. She’s strong. She still needs someone to have her back.
Nearly all her life, Annie Fletcher has had one goal: Becoming a Special Forces soldier. Like her Delta Force father. Like her honorary uncles. She’s had all the support in the world, from family, friends....and from the boy who’s owned her heart since the tender age of seven. With Frankie’s love and encouragement, she’s now an elite Green Beret soldier, captain of her own unit, the culmination of a lifelong dream.
So why is it suddenly not enough?
Serving her country is everything, but mission after mission, Annie puts her life on the line. Her most recent narrow escape from death puts into sharp focus everything she has to lose - a lifetime with the man she loves. Becoming a wife. A mother. Staying in one place, instead of dragging Frankie from post to post, forcing him to take a backseat while she ascends the ranks. Suddenly, Annie has a life-changing decision to make. Can she disappoint her loved ones, by walking away from the only career she’s ever wanted?
Annie’s hoping her upcoming cruise with Frankie will give her the space and perspective she needs to decide. But, when a thrilling vacation adventure goes wrong, her fiancé proves yet again why they make the perfect team....and why love is always the only choice.
A note from the author: You’ve all been asking for Annie’s story forever....and here it is! Some have suggested this story should be called Rescuing Frankie - but no matter how accomplished we are, no matter how smart or tough or strong....we all need someone to have our backs, to rescue us when we need it most. Annie is no different. Enjoy!
Rescuing Annie is a full length book in the Delta Force Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Annie and Frankies story
At long last we have the story we've all been waiting for. Annie has finally grown up and is engaged to Frankie. I still remember Annie as that little 7 year old girl she was when we first met her way back in Emily and Fletchs book. We've had a few snippets along The way of Annie getting older and now we have this one where she's an adult. Seeing the relationship between them grow was so good to read....I loved it 😀

grown up
Annie and Frankie have grown up. Frankie is now a wonderful man, Annie well I am not sure if she is sassy or self centred.

Annie was Unrecognizable
There was no connection at all to the precocious, caring little girl with this self involved, selfish woman. Frankie had as much personality as a stump, just sitting around waiting for Annie. Disappointing.

A story worth waiting for
We met Annie as a little girl. We met Frankie as a little boy. The little girl became a woman who determinedly pursue who dreams and got results. The boy grew into a man who was quiet and strong. But what happens when you reach the top of your dream mountain and the view wasn’t what you expected to see. Susan Stoker is a consummate story teller and this is one of her best.

Sugary Sweet
I have waited years for this story, and I wasn’t disappointed but I also wasn’t wowed. I loved Annie and the fact that she stayed true to who she was. I completely fell in love with Franky and his love for Annie is so sweet, but there were so many mushy moments. Yes they love each other and have since they were 7. For each of them there was never anyone else, but they declared this to each other no less than 80 times. Every single chapter they talked about how much they love each other, WE GET IT!!!!!
Emma Wilder was amazing as always. I love her narrations as you can really feel what is happening. I shed quite a few tears that I probably would not have shed if I was reading and not listening. Overall 4 stars.

I loved this!
The narrator did an amazing job capturing the essence of Annie. Which was no small thing given how Annie has been a part of the series from the beginning and well loved. This was the long awaited story and Annie and Frankie and I loved hearing it come to life.

Disappointed-Hardly and action & Very mushy
I really love her books, but I was very disappointed with this one. Annie was introduced and has been a part of the series since book 2. I was expecting her story to be the best of them all. Unfortunately, it was by far the worst! There's always a ton of action and suspense in her stories, with romance on top. This did not live up to expectations. Hearing Annie and what type of woman she was becoming for so long, I really wanted her story to be amazing, like the rest of the series. Instead, you got a man who's been bullied because of his disability (it was mentioned far too often), and a huge pushover. he'll go anywhere or do anything so she can do what she wants. that's not the kind of guy you'd think this super bad A$$ woman would want. there were so many I love you's to make you sick. If you like the no action without suspense, just lovey-dovey stuff, this is the book for you. personally, I love the suspense with a ton of action and a happily ever after. (like the majority of her other books). After all the build-up to Annie's story, it definitely left me disappointed. I hope she's not trying to change her writing style. I usually love her books. But, if this is what I have to look forward to, I'm going to have to find another author to follow.

Lovely story
I loved that they were so head over heels and never once doubted each other! Normally these story lines always have a twist of controversy in the love story. I loved that this one didn’t and they were steadfast throughout!

Just love this series
This book was so good! Loved seeing Annie all grown up and still in love with Frankie from the time she was 7. Was so awesome to see Annie in her true element and proving so many men wrong! I think it’s hilarious how her daughter is such a girlie girl tho. Had me giggling. I love all of Susan’s series and love Emma read each one with so much emotion. If you haven’t read all her series get on it, you don’t know what your missing!

Worst book by Stoker
Stoker normally has a great action plot with romance. This was one without substance. It was disjointed as if huge sections of the story were missing. The narrators voice was annoying as she inflected the word in the wrong place. Truly disappointing!
