This is a great collection to start this series!

Susan Stoker writes books that touch on social issues that can be very uncomfortable. She does this to bring light into the darkness that is our world today.

This series is about a group of First Responders in San Antonio Texas. You meet police and firefighters and the women (and men) they fall in love with.

Erin Mallon does a phenomenal job of bringing these characters to life. You always know who is speaking, regardless of there being 2, 5, or 15 characters in the scene. How she does this is pure magic!

A wonderful beginning..

Justice for Mackenzie

Dax and Mac make a great couple. She was sassy and goofy all at once. I was hanging by a thread when she was abducted..great suspense. This is book one, so the setup of all of the friends ha started. There are a lot of names and titles to keep track, but so far, I’m loving this group of law enforcement/ medical personnel. Great read.

Justice for Mickie

I did not like this one. The story was good and I get it, but the language was too much, Mickie’s sister was a pain, Mickie’s was too naive for her own good and I couldn’t believe that Cruz would put himself in such a position. This story was gritty and dark. I couldn’t wait for it to be done, but I appreciated connection between Cruz and Mickie and how his friends came through for him when it was all said and done.

Just for Corrie

Quint and Corrie were absolutely adorable. He was so enthralled with her and her abilities. Corrie gave us a heroine that was different than the others. It made you proud of her and how she took on her captures. It was a shame that her friends paid a higher price than she did, but she still showed remarkable strength and Quint showed that he was just the rock she needed. Thoroughly enjoyed the story, even with more of the harsh language.

Justice for Laine

Laine and Wes had instant connection and lust. They connected quick and deep and I loved it.

I couldn’t believe how careless Laine was, especially in her profession, but how else would we have had a chance to get the entire gang together again. This one was a quick read and equally as enjoyable.

For this who read any of the Delta series, Tex is here too. That man is everywhere.

A REALLY ENJOYABLE BUNDLE

What a great bundle of ‘badge’ books this was.. sexy heroes who instantly know what (.. or rather who) they want and don’t stop until they get her, quirky, strong, loving heroines with realistic bodies and entertaining and exciting plots that start off sweet but turn deadly as the suspense and danger levels rise. There’s a whole lot packed into each story.. and there’s different feels from each.. but I did have two favorites from the four. However, my personal hero was Erin Mallon who single-handedly brought a multitude of varied characters to life, gave impressively believable male voices and didn’t hold back with the inflections as each dual POV storyline hurtled its way to the intense climactic drama before its HEA ending.

Worth a credit? Yes.. this is a great way to package the series and I can’t wait to see if they’ll do it with books 5-8 because then you get a lot for just one credit.

Erin Mallon is the BEST!

~~~Book 1~~~

1) Erin Mallon can make most audiobooks better by at least 25%.
2) I loved Mack, but her rambling started to work my last nerve after a couple of hours. Still enjoyed listening and I will buy the other boxed sets.
3) Okay, back to Erin. Her male voice is so good I often forget it’s her.
4) Can anyone else hear a radio playing in the background? At first I thought it was my clock radio, but I’m listening with Bose QC35 noise canceling headphones. Max out the volume and tell me if you can hear it. NEVER MIND—The geeks of the interwebs say that my headphones are picking up low frequency radio signals.
5) Have I mentioned that I LOVE Erin Mallon’s work? Well, I do.

agreed with too much sex review

I like Susan's previous books because they were focused more on the story and not sexual encounters. The stories were decent but the sex scenes were too long. That took away from my overall enjoyment of these first 4 books.

Justice for Corrie the best loved it and it is a 5

Justice for Mackenzie
This story is so messed up, I think if the narration had been better I might have enjoyed it more. I do like this author have listened to some great stories from her but this one I didn't care for. I do have to say close to the end I just had to say out loud this is so messed up and it almost brought tears to my eyes. Has a good ending but I didn't care that much for the characters, The author felt like she was babbling as much as Mackenzie was, I had to set my teeth to get through this story, almost just cut it off, but in the other series I listened there was one book I didn't care for so since this is a boxset I will go on to the next book in this series and hope I can get into it more than this one.

Justice for Mickie
This starts out slow and keeps that way until close to the end. I would say with drug deals and the mean MC gangs this story is believable and will give you nightmares. I really didn't want to go to bed before I listened to the ending. Pretty close to the ending I had to hold my breath and just about cried. It was very painful watching what this gang did to women and to Angel. It will be along time before I forget this story. As do all of the books in this series it has a happy ending, this one is bitter sweet but really Angel is something and is so mean to so many people. Mickie is such a sweet heart and it was good to see her find her HEA but she goes through a lot and can still bounce back. Cruz is such a gentle man it is hard to see him act like the nasty bikers. Mackenzie is growing on me.

Justice for Corrie
This story blows me away and the best of this series. Corrie is something else, she is my hero and nothing stops this lady. What she can do blind I can't even do with my eyes open. She never says never, doesn't feel sorry for her self but just said how can I fix this or work it out. Even with the bad men one step behind her she out smarts them, the woman is amazing. Quint should be given an award for how he deals with everything. I know if I was either of these people I would have just fallen apart. I just love this story.

Justice for Laine
There really isn't any Justice in this story, there are no bad guys, just a sweet romance of girl getting lost which was dangerous and painful and the way they found her, by expecting everything evil and under the sun to have happen to her. It is a fast pace hot romance.

I have some issues with this narrator, it took me awhile to get into her, she pauses when she should not and doesn't when she should. When she is reading anything but the story she drags out the end of the sentence and has a little attitude. I really think her normal voice is very nice but really dislike it when she is reading titles on the closure of each book. Her character voices are good, sometimes her emotions are off. Once I got use to her she wasn't that bad. Had I just listen to the first book and not bought the box set I most likely would not have listen to this series. There is no background noise, no volume changes just pauses when there shouldn't be any. It is read a little faster than I like which at times made it harder to make my mind work that fast.

There are so very good stories in this box set one I didn't care for at all and the others were ok. One I totally loved and really got hooked on, I really didn't want that one to end. All in all it wasn't bad but I am not sure for me it was worth what I paid but I got one great one so I am happy.

Honor at it’s best

Love the stories. Erin is my favorite narrator. On book 1 kept hearing background noise.

Fabulous, Hot guys and Fabulous storyline

ohhhhhhh these stories are fabulous, I read the books but this narrator makes the stories so much alive...... I love Susan's stories.

absolutely fantastic boxset

I have read her ebooks but I absolutely loved each audiobook story and Erin does a fantastic job with each one.
