From beginning to end it was gripping, with interesting characters and beautifully read. Highly recommended!

The pace and interest is held high, great narration too!
The fact that the lead character, Jack, is at one point carrying out 2 complicated cases, one covertly for his ex boss, really keeps up the pace!

Tension

Just brilliant

It was a good story with likeable good characters and evil criminals.
I really liked the narrators voice and speed he read. Also had sub plots and lots of crime detail

The complex story

For me to really enjoy a book I have to like the main character.
In the previous books I've found Jack difficult, but I've not disliked him. I did in this book.
His aggression and know it all attitude weren't a good mix and the disfunction of his family life was off putting, in fact social services might need a call.
The case the team are working on is interesting and I feel Jacks issues took away from the plot.
Also the other case Jack is working on lost its lustre because of the same issues.
Both could be so much more and should have been what dominated the book.

I’ve enjoyed the series so far but this is not the best. Don’t like the way Jack’s character is developing, too arrogant and self absorbed. The story was okay.
