But the adventure is just beginning.
Upon defeating a literal big, bad wolf, the members of the guild are framed for attempted murder and imprisoned in the Empress’ dungeon. With no way out, one of them is forced to reveal a secret that will change their standing in Tritania forever.

2 hours (10%) of the book is skipable
Around 2 hours of the book is just stat reading, which can (and should) be skipped.
It also feels like a huge oversight, that the main character is a previous high lvl player, but doesn't know some of the most basic things about the world.
Jeff Hays is as always a good enough reason to tough this crazy (in a bad way) story out and listen through it all. Just have your finger on the fast forward button.

Oh fick, what a blast!! We're ready for Volume 2
It has been a few years since I first listened to Fantasy Online, and I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed it. Great characters, the worldbuilding is solid and then there's the great storytelling. The banter is spot on and the little update about Brexit was hilarious. The funniest part of listening to this was watching the two pups Hiccup and Snowballs having twitching ears every time they heard their names, trying to work out who was calling them.
Harmon writes great books, and to fully enjoy the nods to other characters like Quantum please go pick up the Feedback Loop series, as that will make sense of the character mentions. Jeff Hays is brilliant and you can tell that he enjoys his work
The additional novella included with this volume 'Jatla is not a Sh*thole', is a trip into Hiccup the goblin's world of lies, double-dealing, fickery, and gas (lots of it). These books do not contain 'Smell'O'Rama' or you would probably turn green! However, for us, Hiccup lives up to her namesake's character and provided some gas to make the novella a more immersive experience for us.
Clear your diary and settle in for some fun with The Mitherfickers™ - You won't regret it.

These books were so fun! The kind of amazing action and comedy that only the brilliant mind of Harmon Cooper can think up, and the pure gold performance from Jeff Hays that perfectly brings it to life! Can't wait for the next one!

Fickin Awesome!
Alright so let me first say I came into this book with no expectations. I got it from the Author on the Facebook giveaway. However, I was immediately intrigued when I saw that there was a goblin and he was voiced by Jeff Hays. The more I listened to the book the happier I got. I found myself at times in tears from laughter. Fickin awesome book about a bunch of crazy mither fickers trying to save both of their worlds. Great intrigue in the real world as well as a bitter family feud. Seriously enjoy the fickin heck out of this mither fickin book!

A pleasantly unique story
Proxima Legends, Vol 1 is a great book with multiple likable characters that you follow, An interesting story that will keep you entertained when following the main character in the VR game, Proxima, and when he is in the actual world. The main protagonist and those who are around in throughout the book are enjoyable and tend to even each other out. The book also has an interesting idea with the two universes (Proxima and the real world) crossing over into each other, with mysterious circumstances occurring leading to a particular group of Proxima gamers' deaths. The NPCs in the Proxima universe having knowledge of the real world was an interesting idea that added to the character's personalities and mystique of the world. There is romance in the book, but I did not find it getting in the way of my enjoyment of the main story.
Overall if you like the author’s summary and don’t mind some romance or Yakuza business, I encourage you to check this book out! It has a unique story, a fascinating idea when it comes to the universes and other games in this universe crossing over, a fantastic narrator, some references to the other books that the author has written, and a witty mither-ficken goblin named Hiccup!

Hold on to your chalupa!
An intriguing story with a wild variety of characters. Pretty enjoyable once you’ve grown accustomed to Hiccup the Goblin who is like a shotgun blast of rude and farts. His character balances out and definitely says anything on his mind.

Such a great series!
I’ve read and listened to Fantasy Online Hyperborea and Fantasy Online Polynya—the two books that are included in this the first volume of the rebranded Proxima Legends series—multiple times. In fact I re-read them as recently as last month, but when I got a chance to listen to the recently released audio version I couldn’t resist since it includes a previous unreleased bonus short story. The story of Ryuk and the mitherfickers is just so much fun. On the outside world we have the intrigue and conflict of sibling rivalry and the bizarre happenings of people thinking that are being attacked by creatures from the digital world. And in the digital world we have the hilarious and over the top adventure of the mitherfickers looking for answers to what is happening. Such a great cast of characters, with Hiccup the goblin being the ultimate comic relief (be warned much of it is fart humor…which I find hilarious, at least within the context of this series) As I mentioned, this collection also includes a short story prequel to the series that is focused solely on Hiccup! For those that don’t know, this series is connected with a number of other series by Harmon Cooper (The Feedback Loop/ Last Warrior of Unigaea/ Monster Hunt NYC), with cameos from a several characters from those other books. You don’t have to have read those books in order to enjoy this series, but I highly recommend them all. I can’t wait for volume 2 of Proxima Legends as it will include not only The Runestones of Tritinakh (the 3rd book of the original Fantasy Online series) but also an all new book continuing the journey of Ryuk and Co. Can’t wait! As for the audio narration, it’s top notch. If you’ve never experienced a book narrated by Jeff Hays you are in for a major treat. He’s a modern day Mel Blanc, giving each and every character their own voice and personality. If you like humorous adventure stories and have any interest experiencing a LitRPG this is a great place to start.
