Summary

Quantum Hughes doesn't know how long he's been trapped in a cyber noir world known as The Loop.

For each day that passes, Quantum adds an item to his inventory list, hoping that he'll one day be free.

Has it really been nearly 550 days? Has he gone mad? Will Quantum ever be free?

A surprise message from the real world sparks a series of events that Quantum could never have never imagined. Suddenly, he's facing off against killer invaders, fighting steam-powered robots, going toe-to-toe with dagger-wielding goblins, visiting floating realms, and even taming a mirrored dragon.

Through Quantum's trademark snark, his near bottomless inventory list of items (example: item 287, King Tut's dagger made from a meteorite; item 327, a Viking helmet with horns), there's no telling what he will do next, or how far Quantum will go to level up and solve a challenge.

About the series: Explore vast and unique fantasy MMORPG worlds in one of the original isekai GameLit series published between 2015-2018. The Feedback Loop is a portal fantasy series by Harmon Cooper, Amazon best-selling author of Pilgrim, Cowboy Necromancer, and Monster Hunt NYC. Fans of role playing games and everything from classic noir to high fantasy and fast-paced gamer action will love this new collection. Watched Boss Battle? You'll dig this. A fan of Sin City, Sword Art Online, The Punisher, Free Guy, or Ready Player One? This will scratch that itch.

Quantum Hughes has always been one of narrator Jeff Hays' most beloved character voices. Volume 1 features Jeff's re-recording of the book that started it all. This new version captures a more developed Quantum voice, and takes advantage of better gear and mastering. Soundbooth Theater has also remastered Books 2 and 3, and recorded a bonus Feedback Loop short story and Quantum's inventory list, so even longtime fans will have a reason to pick this improved version up.

Grab it, and dive into The Loop!

Fantastic Narration, poor story.

Jeff Hayes is a fantastic narrator, bringing life to any character he embodies in an audiobook. His talent at making even lackluster stories engaging and fun to listen to is truly worthy of praise. Anyone reading this review i highly recommend you go listen to literally ANY other audiobook he has performed in than this one.

I say this because the main character in this story is deeply unlikable, sexist and childish. His behaviour is nothing short of pure cringe. I would have liked a book based on his personality before entering the loop as the hints you get at his previous self make that version sound infinitely more likable.

The writing of the fight scenes is a bit poor too but that is a minor point compared to the MC themselves.

THE most entertained i've been

i can't remember the last time i've been so engrossed in an audiobook.
The production value is simply but, absolutely fantastic. The sheer range the narrator has would but anyone to shame.

Dystopian future as told by 1950's gangster.

Harmon Cooper does a great job setting up the world and premise of Feedback Loop. The main character Quantum is the lens we see the world though and he is bitter and jaded on many things due to what he has been through.

The mix of Virtual Reality and real world works well and I didn't find myself wishing to see the other whilst exploring. the characters are varied and bounce off of Quantum in unique but sometimes predicable ways.

The worlds visited are varied and leave you wanting more and wishing you could play those worlds and explore them more.

Jeff Hays as narrator is perfect. He brings the characters to life making them recognizable and emotive. To the point by the ending of Book three I felt physical pain for the emotions the characters were going through.

I am looking forward to the set of 5-8 coming out next month!!

Solid story to pass the time.

The dialog is really impressive in this book.
The overall plot is pretty average but the characters are pretty interesting and likable.
Id recommend this as a good listen.

The Best Gamelit can Get

As my first foray into Gamelit this is still the best and now even better as the 4 book package. Before this was popular Cooper created a crazy ,realistic intriguing world that just made you jump up and notice. With the vocal talents of Jeff Hays which made me a massive fan this was the team up of all team ups and my only bad point was this was before SBT came into being as having this done with multiple narration would of been icing on the cake. Still my favourite series for this genre and how i became a fan of the genre so this comes with 6 stars and my wholly over appreciative gushing that if you don't try and like this then your in the wrong genre for you.

Harmon + Jeff = a riotous good time

A true gem of a series, the characters, the world(s) building, the crazy action and the even crazier storyline, set in the digital dream world that is The Loop. The Feedback Loop is a none stop Cyberpunk, steampunk, noir thrill ride. Read by the man known as Jeff Hays. Quantum Hughes is a character he was born to play, In fact, some say he is Quantum. A mind blowing narration to match a mind blowing story from the true Father of American Litrpg.

good BUT...

The story would be amazing if almost every major plot point wasn't enemies being able to pull game breaking stuff out from nowhere. There is literally no rhyme or reason to what the baddies are able to do. the logic behind a lot of what happens is flawed especially regarding the how and why the reapers are able to do what they do.

repetitive and cliche

mind numbingly repetitive. dialogue is contrived and has no real direction. a lot of the described conditions seem to be poorly researched and implemented. the only thing that got me through this book was the voice performance. the story is crap, the settings are crap, and the dialogue is lazy.

Awesome

The Narration is really good. Harmon Cooper does wonders for this book. if you're an harmon Cooper fan this is one of his best books. The fighting is amazing and so detailed. the world building is actually not bad. the character progression is pretty good also. the amount of detail in this series how long this omnibus is its a must buy. Jeff hays also made this book really come too life. Harmon does such a good job in this and I really loved this series alot. I loved how good the fighting was and how entertaining this book was. I was freaking out while listening to this book, every second was so good. The ideas and abilities that the Mc has is so cool. I have favorite items he uses and how he uses them but I'm not gonna add it in this review. I also love the mcs logic he makes so much sense and is really relatable. The side characters are also unique and cool. The villains are also corny in a good way and really unique in there own way.

Where has this series been all my life?!

Wow, this one by Harmon Cooper is a LitRPG/GameLit hidden gem! Jeff Hayes is as always incredible with the narration.

Full of grit, humor and snark, this book has it all. Plus a great and engaging story with badass characters (Sorry Quantum, Morning Assassin may be my favorite.) and all of the gaming elements that make this genre my favorite.

Run, don't walk, to the Kindle Store or Audible and add this one to your inventory! You won't regret it. :)

Hollow

Jeff Hays is the only good thing here. The constraints the author put in could use a back story to make it more convincing.

The protagonist is so hollow. I couldn't get very far in the story.

Loved the cranky noir man stuck in…everything

Fun characters that go to a lot of cool locations. The rules of the worlds keep changing, and keep making the books more interesting with their diversity.

Awesome and gritty

Life is really gritty, but really funny in the loop. Quantum is an awesome character and Jeff really brings him to life but I have to say my favorite is Morning Assassin.

Just not my jam

I suppose I should not even rate this book as my reasons for not enjoying the book have more to do with me personally. I could not wrap my mind around the MC. I tried. I listened to the first book amd got half way through the second and I don't like the guy. My lack of bo ding with the MC made it very hard for me to enjoy. That being said. The book was full of great narratives and the choice to have Jeff Hayes do the audible was great. Like I said, it's not my cup of tea.

Stop! Read this first!

I *wanted* this book to be awesome. It's a great deal, with an excellent narrator (who does a great job). But...

The book needs severe polish. The pacing is awful. Exposition is dumped heavy-handedly. Things that should have impact, such as the special items the main character has collected, simply do not. The various levels of plot are shoveled at the audience in a ham-fisted, first-book sort of way. In addition to all of this, the dialogue is dated and stilted, the characterizations are Noir but not in a good way, and the RPG elements are barely there.

Skip this one. Get Dungeon Crawler Carl instead.
