Summary

All Haley Jones wants for her 18th birthday is answers.

Thanks to an overprotective dad and a secluded existence in the Sierra Nevada wilderness, Haley has never experienced a typical life. Her dad claims there's a good reason for their isolation, but he refuses to tell her why, delaying her questions with the promise of answers when she turns 18.

That day has finally arrived, but the explanation raises more questions than answers. And when Haley wishes for the chance to explore the world, she finds that the old adage rings true - be careful what you wish for.

Contains mature themes.

Reasonable setup, hoping for more

A rather longwinded setup to what is clearly a much bigger picture, I'm interested enough to stick around for book 2 despite the narrators nauseatingly nasal semi-monotone. Fingers crossed for book 2!

Rambling and pointless.

This book started so well with action and intruige. It then descended into a disappointing soap opera. Enough said.

Why!

I’m not much of a critic given that I’m very aware of just how much time writing can consume the author. But when a book leaves you with way more questions than answers & I mean the whole book then I have to ask why would you want to read more especially when the questions are just not worth an answer

Good start but not the full story

Felt this was a foundation builder for the series, a bit slow but great characters can't wait to see where it goes. Only ⭐️⭐️ as its more of a long prologue to the next books than a story in its own right.

This book is not a stand alone. Part of a series so you must read on to find out the rest of the story.

Girl turns 18, finds out some well kept family secrets, then her father (whose hidden her away and home schooled her like an assassin) goes missing and then randomly 6 guys turn up and take her under their wing. The end

Shame this isn't a box set so you can read the whole story as one and not in instalments.
