Summary

"Fast-paced, sexy, and altogether irresistible. A flat-out fabulous read!" - NY Times best-selling author Celia Rivenbark.

He's six foot four inches of sexy British music legend. Twenty years ago, she was his adoring fan. Now, her career depends on unlocking his secrets, but he's about to unlock her heart.

It's more than a lucky break when music journalist Claire Abby lands a Rolling Stone cover story with British rock star Christopher Penman. Claire spent her teenage years gazing at his posters on her bedroom wall, fantasizing he was her boyfriend, and falling in love with his mysterious green eyes. Two decades later, in person, Chris is everything Claire feared - off-the-charts sexy, ridiculously charming, and utterly nerve-wracking. He's not about to discuss the rumors he's dodged for a decade, but she has a job to do. She must earn his trust, unearth the truth, and eventually, the heartbreaking secret behind it.

His blockbuster story is her first priority when she returns home, a nearly impossible task when Christopher starts calling and flirting. Is he trying to keep her from telling the real story? Or did he feel the same spark she did? Either way, she can't deny his wit, his buttery British accent, or that little voice in her head that says she'd be an idiot to say "no". And when she agrees to see him? It's beyond anything her teenage brain ever imagined.

Typically obvious

Good entertainment even if it was all a bit obvious and predictable. But it was good enough for me to finish it

uggghhh

I will review the ebook separately since I had to buy it, because the narrator for the audio was so awful. To say her voice, pronunciations, and intonation were annoying is putting it mildly.

Listen to the sample first before purchase.

Voice didn't match book

Would you try another book from Karen Booth and/or Ruth Urquhart?

No

Would you be willing to try another book from Karen Booth? Why or why not?

No. The writing itself was juvenile. I'm not sure how many times I had to hear about the H scratching his stomach or the mole on his cheek.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The accent didn't match where the main character should have been from. The voice sounded whiney.

What character would you cut from Bring Me Back?

The main character.

Good story, horrible narration.

The narrators voice and accent was so grating I could not listen. It was a decent story though, read independently if the narration.

Nope

Wow! When I read the reviews regarding the narrator I figured they were overblown. Nope. I didn’t make it 5 minutes.

Entertaining story but the narrator...

The story was entertaining, a great beach read. However, the narrator was not the right choice. Her whiny voice and poor American accent made it almost unbearable. I finally had to finish the books by reading them on Kindle.

What is this accent???

Is the narrator trying for Irish? American? British? This accent and lack of intonation are so weird that I couldn’t get beyond the first 5 mins.

Nice story, but narration is painful

Enjoyed the story but the narration was awful. It sound like a computer was reading it at times.

The voice

I feel horrible saying this but I couldn't get over the reader's voice. I only listened for 5 minutes and I couldn't stand it. The story seemed good though! =(

Where are you supposed to be from?

I couldn't even finish it. I got to chapter 8 and couldn't stand listening to the narrator's fake American accent any longer. At least that is what it seemed like to me. I also didn't realize the second book is actually a continuation of the first book until I started looking to see if it had a different narrator. I probably could have gotten past the narration if the book had been any good but the story wasn't even interesting to me. It was frustrating and dragging along. Sorry, I don't usually review books I haven't finished reading but felt like finishing would have been a waste of time.
