Summary

Wic and Phantom Team race against time in Phantom Deadfall, Christopher Hopper and J.N. Chaney’s next edition in the runaway hit Ruins of the Earth series. For fans of Galaxy's Edge, Expeditionary Force, and District 9—the fate of the world waits for you.

The gods have been angered. Hell will rain down.

After Wic and the Phantom’s successful operation on Karkin Four, the team learns of the enemy’s plans for a swift retaliation: an all-out assault on New York City.

Together, Wic must rally the team’s resources to plan an emergency counter-assault that will push the Phantoms to their limits. With help from unexpected places, mission success seems all but assured.

But when a new terrifying technology emerges, Wic must face the most challenging choice of all: sacrifice his teammates for the fate of Earth.

Allegiances will be tested, friendships will fray, and the planet will march toward the greatest darkness it has ever encountered.

this series continues to make me laugh at the funny parts and enjoy the action parts a nice blend with realistic characters. the narrators ability to change his voice makes each character sound like there own person.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!

I have read a lot of military sci-Fi and this is BY FAR the best series. I have been hooked since Book 1 chapter 1 and it just keeps getting better and better. It’s rare that the 2nd and/or 3rd books in a series are as good as (if not better than) the 1st, but the Ruins of the Earth series is just that! It’s SPLICKIN’ awesome! And RC Bray, best in the business, bar none! He brings the story to life. It plays out in my head like a movie, both thanks to Hopper and Chaney’s writing and Bray’s performance.
FIVE STARS ALL AROUND! I would give 6 if I could.

…more, please.

"Phantom Deadfall" ROCKS!

The Ruins of the Earth series has become my favorite three books in the Galaxy's Edge novel-verse...vulnerable characters, great entertainment & escapism, military sci-fi action at its best, and well-timed, well written humor. Love learning about the philosophical side of the badass, Wic. If you haven't dipped your toes into the proverbial audiobook waters yet...just know that RC Bray is a master who brings characters/books to life. There is no instrument with the versatility of the human voice. Bray is the
Andrea Bocelli of audiobook storytelling. Keep em' coming authors, Hopper & Chaney!!!

I tried my best to like it.

I tried to like this series, but I struggled to get into the story. The first book pulled me in, but somewhere along the line it seem lost. I can't seem to reconcile, how an advance alien race who has been around for millenniums cannot use their own weapons. but phantom team can, I think it could have been better written, to evoke excitement and suspense.

awesome!!!

quality ass series Imo. pretty good character building and development throughout. great laughs, tears and anger lol. I'm a big fan of a lot of hopper and Chaney stuff. as always Mr. Bray is incredible and makes the story come to life. I still don't understand how he makes female voices so convincing, I mean his voice is so deep. wtf dude?... but seriously would recommend this series and others to anyone into scifi, military/scifi and or space opera style books for sure.

Enjoyable

The series has been fun to listen to and this book is a continuation of the same. I gave the book 4 instead of 5 stars as some aspects of the story line I felt were over the top.
