Story
Tylene McClaine, black sheep of the McClaine Half Moon Hollow werewolf pack, has spent a lifetime blocking out the criticisms of her boisterous pack. They say she’s too bookish, too sarcastic, and worst of all, too picky when it comes to finding a nice werewolf boy and settling down. Story
When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate - he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in 19th-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

non-stop vampire action

Summary
The "enchanting" (Publishers Weekly) Jane Jameson series returns with this fun and witty paranormal romance following a vampire consultant who has nefarious plans to oust Jane from her role as the head of Half-Moon Hollow’s vampire council.
Ever since Jane Jameson took over running the Vampire Council for Half-Moon Hollow, things have been a little unorthodox, and that doesn’t sit well with the head office. Who would have thought vampires were so into bureaucracy and tradition?
Enter a vamp from corporate who’s determined to unseat Jane and get the council back on track - which means no more of this Kentucky neighborliness and mixing with humans, werewolves, witches, or anything else.
But Jane’s not interested in going back to the bad old days when the council was mired in corruption and tended to "accidentally" eat people now and again, but she might be in over her head this time. Good thing there’s a pretty new face in town who just might be the perfect distraction and help save Jane’s career.

Not the Best but still Good
Whilst its nice to go back to halfmoon Hallow I wish we would have had More time with some of the older characters as there was very little time spent with any of them. In fact the Narrator from the last stories seems to have been done away with rather quickly (Not dead but out of the way). Whilst the new Character is Fine she really wasn't as Interesting as the older ones.
The story was also a little more tame than I am used to Compared to the Previous in the series. I'm Used to far more wacky Hi-jinks from Jane and the gang. The Best thing is that Amanda Ronconi once again gives it her all and provides a brilliant reading.
Overall whilst Its great to be Back in Halfmoon Hallow and would still recommend the series to anyone this one is not the best example of the series.

Another Visit To Halfmoon Hollow
I love Molly Harper's Halfmoon Hollow series so I was eager to listen to this one. I'm happy to say that it did not disappoint! Unlike some other reviewers, I found the balance between the attention given to the new characters and the old to be just right. Hats off too to Amanda Ronconi, whose narration once again brings the story to life.

Another triumph for the Harper, Ronconi teaming.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fun read. In fact I just always adore my visits to Half Moon Hollow. The only thing that stops me from giving this great read 5 stars was that for me it was obvious who the villain was from pretty early. This didn't stop me completely enjoying listening to Amanda Ronconi breathe life into Molly Harpers undead world. More please.

Nice addition to the Half Moon Hollow universe
3.5 stars, rounded up because — Amanda Ronconi narration
Setting: Half Moon Hollow, KY Contemporary
Genre: Paranormal, rom-com
First off, aside from providing little relevant detail, the blurb is off. Yes, there is an auditor from HQ, but he isn’t “determined to unseat Jane” from her post as head of the local council. He, Eric Weston, an investigator and consultant with the World Council for the Equal Treatment of the Undead, is more of an efficiency expert. He was sent to assess how Dick Cheney (the original, not the former Veep) and Jane Jameson are managing the local branch of the council. Yes, he can replace them if he finds too many problems, but there’s more to his visit than that. Including a personal murder investigation involving Dick. Meadow Schwartz (née something totally different — she being a scion of a family of the horsey set down in Lexington) is a relatively “young” vampire who, after being turned against her will several years ago, went on a murder spree. But they see baaad people. She is now under the supervision of the local council, where she also has a part-time job. When Eric and Meadow met it was hate-at-first-sight, and it didn’t get much better as his investigation progressed and she got defensive on Dick and Jane’s behalf. Their relationship develops despite disasters (accidents or sabotage?) at the council offices, a seedy PI looking for Meadow, and the usual Half Moon Hollow happenings.
Overall, this is a pretty good book, though not, in my opinion, as good as others in the series. I think Meadow and Eric could have been better developed, and the plot could have been a bit more — well, I don’t want to sat complex, but — so, just a bit more... je ne sais quoi. (Perhaps Ms Harper is pulling herself a little thin trying to keep up with the demands of the three series she is currently working) However, anyone who has read and enjoyed this and the Jane Jameson series will be pleased to find comfortable old friends showing up regularly.
The narration by Amanda Ronconi is, as always, perfect for Molly Harper’s style. I don’t think anyone could do a better job of it.

Peace, Blood, and Understanding
I liked this installment of the series but it wasn’t my favorite book. The characters were funny and I loved getting more Dick and Jane.
But if I am honest I didn’t get the main characters chemistry together. They were both good characters but I just didn’t feel the romance.
Again Loved the Narration.

Another great installment
REVIEW PROVIDED BY: Kelly
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4
Meadow Schwartz just wants to live a quiet peaceful life filled with tea and her friends. But nothing can be that simple in Half-Moon Hollow. The Council has sent in an auditor to take a closer look at the way Jane and Dick are conducting business. Enter the stuffy uptight Eric Weston.
Another great installment from Molly Harper. I really enjoyed listening to Meadow’s story. As always Amanda Ronconi does an amazing job of bringing Molly’s characters to life. It was fun to see some of our past favorite characters pop up in Peace, Blood and Understanding. I love Dick’s nickname for Meadow “Hippy-Dippy”.
I can’t wait to see what is next in this series and what other secrets Half-Moon Hollow has in store for us.

Ack! I finished this a couple weeks ago and forgot to review it and my memory is horrible. I'll boil it down to say that if you've read the other Half-moon Hallow books in the series, this book is very similar in story type and feel but without being boring/feeling repetitive. I liked the characters and enjoyed the story very much, feeling satisfied upon completing it and looking forward to more from this series in the future. :)

Happy to be back in Half Moon Hollow!
It's been years since I last visited Half Moon Hollow! What fun to have another book available in the series. The HMH books have that little bit of extra snark that make Molly Harper's humor shine.
This is an opposites-attract story: Meadow is deliberately laid-back - she owns a tea/healing shop in HMH and Dick Cheney (not the ex-VP) affectionately calls her 'hippie-dippie.' She meets an uptight corporate employee who has been sent to access the HMH office's productivity. It's hate at first sight.... except that he smells soooo good....
And yes, Amanda Ronconi just keeps getting better. The woman is a goddess.
